Job Description

Use the appropriate technology and resources for setting up a common field(s) database to facilitate better understanding and fast reservoir management.

Follow up production reports and communicate frequently with the district engineering for achieving maximum production with minimal cycle time needed.

Participate with the exploration and drilling stuff members for generating / follow up new exploration and development prospects.

Identifying the size of the reservoir (Volumetric Estimate) using updated maps for structure and hydrocarbon pore volume.

Reserve estimates using material balance calculations, decline curves analysis, reservoir pressure vs. cumulative oil production and defining driving mechanisms.

Open and cased hole log analyses including Gamma ray logs, Caliper, Cement bond, Neutron, Density, Sonic, Resistivity and RFT logs.

Production log analysis (Cased hole) including PLT and TDT’s for producers and PLSS logs for injectors and recommending the needed action(s) for perforation, Re-perforation, water shut off, gas cap isolation and/or acid stimulation.

Well test analysis including static surveys, pressure build up, and pressure fall off tests and taking the necessary action(s) such as water flood optimization, stimulating and re-perforating damaged intervals (+ve skin).

Water flood design and monitoring using production/ injection data, pressure performance, bacteria monitoring including chloride data, SRB level, H2S (Souring), debris filling up, iron oxide / sulfide, skin damage, layers contribution and by observing up-normal decrease / increase within production or injection rates.

Participate with the exploration group for clearly understanding the geologic model using the 3-D Visualization seismic and the Earth Vision software.

Identify underground water movement profiles using well histories; production and pressure test data and all available production log analysis.

Optimize decision by evaluating all workover activities (rig and rigless) including mechanical repairs, water shut off, perforations, re-perforations and chemical jobs… and provide candidates for in-fill drilling, gel conformance and hydraulic fracturing.

Data acquisition and interpretation.

Provide management with innovative ideas for adding rates and reserves:

Example: - While drilling the Oct-C5st1 well (Nubia target), I recommended running a composite open hole logs to the ASL section before casing it (not planned before). The obtained logs showed oil potential in this reservoir and lead for the ASL discovery in the biggest field in Gupco Company namely the October main field … knowing that no body mentioned before for this reservoir- in this field- since more than 20 years of starting production from this field.

Production forecast for oil and gas using the experienced normal decline rates with the additional of the expected development and exploration wedges.

Prepare and presenting the shareholder meeting review.

Prepare rig schedule and present wedges profiles for different schedule’s scenarios for management decision-making.

Evaluate and follow up different contractors and provide management with technical evaluation for tenders and completed items.

Concessions Planning:

In 2004, I was selected to be a member in the MCA Extension Agreement team.

This MCA concession is one of the most productive concessions in the Middle East, which produced more than 30% of the Egyptian cumulative oil production. The team was selected to include only the key persons of the Gulf of Petroleum oil company GUPCO, the British Petroleum Company BP, the Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation EGPC and the key persons of the Egyptian Petroleum ministry.
