Dear Parents,
Camp Klurman started the summer with a bang! We welcomed the Friends of Israel Scouts on Monday, June 16 to our camp family. Campers were greeted by smiling faces, and learned about Israel through fun songs and dances. The Scouts performed an interactive show for campers – singing songs in Hebrew and sharing some English favorites too! The camp concert rocked the house as campers danced and sang to the tunes.
We enjoyed boogying in Zumba, splashing our feet in the pool, learning new skills in sports and bouncing our way through the Wow Factory. Walking through the hallways, we are thrilled to see campers from the past and new smiling faces. We look forward to the second week and all the festivities such as Ziggy the Clown, Yoga, Dance, Israeli Culture and much more!
Thank you for choosing us as your summer camp, the place where your campers will build memories and make lasting friendships
Shabbat Shalom,
Laura Goodman

CHAILIGHTS Yedidim (1 - 2 grade)
Dear Yedidim Parents,
My name is Dina Vogel, and for the second year, I am the Unit Head of Yedidim (1st -2nd grade) at Camp Klurman. I am excited to be a part of your campers life this summer. I’m happy to supervise the campers, staff and create a positive, fun, and loving environment for all. Our theme for Yedidim this summer is “Under the Sea.” The campers and counselors in each bunk are coming up with their own individual cute names a cheers. You will be able to hear their cheers throughout the building. They are very excited. This week started off with a splash. The campers had a great time in the pool learning new techniques and having a ball. I am happy to speak with you should you have any questions or concerns regarding your child at camp. Both the physical and emotional safety of your child is our main priority. We also strive for them to have a positive Jewish experience in a place where they can feel comfortable and safe. Thank you for entrusting me with the opportunity and responsibility to make that happen for each and every one of your campers this summer. I can be reached by email at [email protected] or 305-534-3206 ext. 232
CAMPER QUOTES OF THE WEEK
Parker Zaron : “This is the greatest camp ever!”
Mariel Barnes: “This is so much fun!”
Jonah Schucher: “Love my new friends!”
From The Parents
Dear Camp Klurman,
We are SO excited to share the summer with you! Our children, Sydney (Achim 1) and Max (Chaverim 4, Jr. Sports) had such a blast during Pre Camp! Each morning, we arrived at morning car pool to be greeted by the most friendly and caring fac-es! Crazy Hair Day was a definite hit and they sure loved practicing their cheers for Boker Tov! A double thumbs up to the new camp caterer! Sydney, a rice connoisseur, was delighted to see that Brown Rice was offered on the first day. Even Max had some Green Beans (with the encouragement of the Assistant Camp Director!). And, just when we thought that the week could not get any better, Sydney and Max could not wait to share their awards that they received on Friday! (see attached pictures). We look forward to a fun-filled summer with all of you!
Love,
Lisa, Andy, Sydney, & Max Feldman
p.s.-At afternoon carpool, the camp staff were still going strong!! What an amazing group of counselors!!
p.p.s.-We can't wait to share Shabbat with the Israel Scouts!
Shalom parents, The first week of camp was full of introductions, welcomes, and ties into our theme of the week "hachnasat orchim," which means the welcoming of guests. In Judaic Art we made mezuzahs ( in Judaics with Rebecca they made the scroll brocha that goes inside the mezuzah.) A mezuzah is placed on the doorpost, and is significant because it is a daily reminder, and public declaration of Jewish identity and faith. Within the mezuzah is the Shema Yisroel blessing. When a mezuzah is first nailed to a door/post a special brocha (blessing) is said.
Parents we need your help for an upcoming project. Please send your campers with safe & clean recyclables; paper towel rolls, cereal boxes, corrugated cardboard, yogurt/apple sauce containers, obsolete electronics, perfume box containers, and anything else SAFE & CLEAN, that your children's creativity can be inspired by.
Shabbat Shalom Morah Shira

Schlichim from Israel
Hi Camp Klruman,
We are Noa and Paz. We are both from Israel, from Herzelia
and Kfar Saba, and we are taking part in an amazing program
(Summer Schilchim) through the Jewish Agency that gave us
this big opportunity to spend the summer with you at Camp
Klurman. We truly love bringing Israeli culture and Jewish
values to our campers. We are so glad to have been given this
chance to share our personal story, our memories and our
language.
Thank you for having us this summer!!!
