Melting Pot vs. Salad Bowl

• Melting Pot is where cultures assimilate into a common culture, blending their beliefs in with a nation.

• Salad Bowl is much more dispersed. You maintain individual beliefs and customs, with limited assimilation.

Are people forced to assimilate?
