The American Revolution

The American Revolution was a historical event that will be remembered for ever. The American Revolution started in 1775 in the mid 18th century in which turned out into a dreadful fight against the British and the Americans. The loyalists were individuals that were against independence. They were loyal to their king. The patriots were individuals that wanted independence (the rebels) some that were considered rebels such like George Washington and wealthy business man John Hancock. Some African-Americans fought in this war too. The African-Americans fought for the loyalists side because the British promised them freedom and aid if they would stay loyal for their King George III. Great Britain made the navigation acts an imposed tax intended to regulate commerce to British interests. Such act like this one made the colonists angry because it was hurting their own profit but couldnt do anything about it because it was a monarchial government only on ruled. The colonists were not reprensentated. Great Britain was a politically combined with large and small landowners meaning that the rich people were always first and the king made all of the decisions. The French and Indian War was an event that made the King George III undertake a new control policy intended to tighten political control over the colonies in which it made them pay for their defense and return to the colonies. Thus the American Revolution was a threatening and brutal event the colonists where tired of taking orders by the British so the revolted against the British parliament. The Americans wanted to become their own self government. The colonists where tired of taking rules for a monarchy government.

Unfortunately for the king, the Americans had their plans already and made the Declaration of Independence in which it read all the grievances against King George III. The British ignored their cry for independence which in result turned into a war for independence Americans against the British. The Americans knew it wouldnt be easy but on October 19, 1781 Cornwallis finally surrendered and the Americans had defeated the British.

This war was considered internal because some of the colonists were British but didnt like the rule of monarchy. The war was the same people against the same people. It was until the war ended that the British fighting for their independence became colonists. The colonists were fighting for their civil liberties which included their religious freedom, economic opportunities this included the exports and imports they were tired of the British business getting most of their . They wanted the profit that they grew for their self gain and not for the monarchy.

The American Revolution was a social movement rather than a political movement. The political movement was because the colonists changed their form of government from a monarchy to a democracy. The social movement in the American Revolution in the new colonies such as had economic freedoms religious, had freedom to own their own land. The social movement change in the new colonies was very different from the way Great Britain obtained its government the colonies became a slave voting society and the social latter no longer existed. The populations grew and the colonies got the sovereignty they always wished of having.Though the colonists were mistreated and were forced to obey the British rule they managed to self govern themselves wish was what they always wanted. If the colonists wouldnt have revolted we wouldnt have what is present day today the United States. Due to the Great victory of the American Revolution were can act upon our civil liberties.Work Cited
