I notice your advertisement in the class i f iedsection of National Review for 2 December.Would you please put me on your mailing l i s t?Enclosed is a l e t t e r which was printed in the Alton EveningTelegraph yesterday, 1 December.I t so happens that I have quite a number of outsidespeaking engagements, and can use good materials .A matter which quite interests me, and on which Iam anxious to get fur ther documentation is contained in anar t ic le in La Nation Francaise of 1 November 1961. Thisar t ic le , by-Prof. Marcel ae Corte and enti t led "Une entrepriseam6ricaine," says that the brother of the la te Dag Hammerskjoeldis administrator of one of the largest copper companies in theworld, which stands to benefit i f Katanga fal ls and the Leopoldvi l le government should annul the franchise of the Union M i n i ~ r e .

Then the ar t ic le goes on to say that Mr. Adlai Stevenson, beforebecoming US delegate to the United Nations, was president of theTempelsman company which deals in i n d u s t r i a ~ diamonds. Accordingto the ar t ic le , the Tempelsman people are making arrangements topurchase the ent i re diamond production of the Congo from theLeopoldville government. For reasons which you can appreciate, I do not feeltha t I should use th is information in my lectures to stUdents orotherwise without having some documentation providing sol id proofof i t s accuracy. I wonder, therefore, i f your office can throwany l ight on this subject?
