On-Line Driver Education

• Myth – On-line training will take my job away.

• Fact – On-line training will create more of a demand for driver education and will be more accessible to students. The number of students enrolling in BTW will increase.

• Fact – Class sizes can be larger than traditional classroom sizes.

• Fact – Key content areas such as visual search, decision making, alcohol and other drugs, etc. can still be taught in the classroom.

• Due to interest and demand for quality driver education, ADTSEA developed the 2.0 Curriculum DVD to assist teachers in providing a quality driver education program.

• To meet the need for on-line driver education, ADTSEA has taken the next step by providing the curriculum in an on-line version.

• Designed to provide the student with the basic knowledge necessary to operate an automobile.

• Features the same classroom unit lesson plans and quizzes contained within the ADTSEA 2.0 Curriculum.

• Designed to supplement classroom, skill and behind-the-wheel training.

• Developed using software program Moodle.

Student Enrollment

• Once students are enrolled in the course they will be required to read content pages online, as well as specific chapters from the Drive Right Text (Drive Right: You are the Driver, 10th edition) as they proceed through the units.

• Quizzes are scored as the student answers each question.

• The instructor will be provided with a grade sheet after students have completed the quizzes.

On-Line Instructor Training

• Provided on-line to members of ADTSEA and is free of charge.

• As part of the training you will complete the ADTSEA course by reading the content and completing quizzes as student would.

• At the end of the course, you will complete additional units, which give you guidance on how to use the course as an instructor.

• Training is self-paced and you can complete it on your own time.

• Training support is provided through ADTSEA, as needed.

Two Day Instructor Training Course

• Also provide a two day instructor training course, which can be conducted at your facility.

• Cost of the course is $3,200 plus travel expenses.

Costs for ADTSEA On-Line Driver Education

• The instructor must be a current member of ADTSEA (starting at $50).

• There is a $10 instructor code fee for each instructor of the course.

• Each student must pay $10 to enroll in the course for a maximum of 25 students per course.

• You can have multiple courses at the same time.

State Approval

• ADTSEA will work with you to get approval from your state to use ADTSEA’s On-Line Driver Education Program.
