    Schoolphysicsteachers.Tocollectourdata,wefirstcontactprincipalsatanationally

    representativerandomsampleofallpublicandprivatehighschoolsintheUSwhetheror

    nottheyofferphysics.Iftheyofferphysics,weaskforcontactinformationforthephysics

    teachers.(Inthemostrecentsurveyin200809,wecontacted~3,400schoolsandreceived

    responsesfrom99%+oftheprincipals.Wethencontacted~4,000teachersandreceived

    responsesfrom~62%.Previousyearshavesimilarresponserates.)
