AMENDMENT to Academic Articulation Agreement signed September 2010 February 1, 2013 The Joint Acceptance and Academic Program Articulation Agreement between Suffolk County Community College and Dowling College Joint Acceptance Agreement The Joint Acceptance Agreement offers an opportunity for students who are admitted. to Suffolk County Community College (SCCC) to be granted admission to and continue their education at Dowling College (DC) simultaneously based upon the following: eligible students must have an Associate's degree or 60 credits from Suffolk County Community College with a minimum Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.30. As a part of the Joint Acceptance Agreement, eligible Suffolk County Community College students have the opportunity to enroll in any of the undergraduate degree programs available at Dowling College with the provision that they meet all degree-specific requirements. The transfer of Suffolk County Community College credits and class standing is dependent upon course and program equivalencies at Dowling College as determined at the time of enrollment. Since the curricula at both institutions are subject to change, students are advised to seek advisement with both Suffolk County Community College and Dowling College advisors to ensure the most seamless transition. Joint Acceptance Agreement

Opportunities for Suffolk County Community College Students

• Students admitted to the Joint Acceptance program will be considered dual-enrolled and have junior status upon registering at Dowling College.

• Students admitted to the Joint Acceptance program will be invited to attend andparticipate in campus programs and activities available to all enrolled DowlingCollege students.

• Representatives of Dowling College will meet at Suffolk County CommunityCollege with students in the Joint Acceptance program on a continuing andregular basis. These meetings will provide academic assistance with the DowlingCuniculum and general information about the institution, including financingoptions and assistance.

Scholarship Assistance

Dowling College's Revised Transfer Scholarship Awards & Requirements as itPertains to this Joint Acceptance Agreement:

• Full-time registration - minimum of 12 credits• Part-time registration - minimum of 6 credits• Awards are based upon the following GPAs:

Honors Program

Dowling College welcomes applications from graduates of Suffolk County CommunityCollege's Honors Program.

Graduates with an overall GPA of3.7 from the Honors Program at Suffolk CountyCommunity College will be eligible for acceptance into Dowling College's HonorsProgram.

Student Eligibility for the Joint Acceptance Program

• Applicants to the Joint Acceptance Program must be either first-time, first-year, matriculated students at Suffolk County Community College or atransfer student to SCCC from an accredited institution with fewer than 24credits of completed college work

• Currently matriculated SCCC students may apply to the Joint Acceptanceprogram prior to the completion of 24 credits of college work at SCCc.

Suffolk County Community College and Dowling College agree to provide thefollowing:

• Suffolk County Community College agrees to designate appropriatepersonnel (Admissions, Financial Aid, and/or Academic Advisors, etc.) towork with Joint Acceptance program students. Dowling College willsupplement this process with a designated transfer officer.

• Suffolk County Community College and Dowling College will developtogether publications pertaining to the Joint Acceptance program. DowlingCollege will provide appropriate materials to assist Joint Acceptanceprogram students.

• SCCC will be responsible for the selection of candidates to the JointAcceptance program. Applications will be evaluated according to thecriteria in effect at SCCc.

• SCCC agrees to provide DC with a list of aU new and returning studentsparticipating in the Joint Acceptance program.

• SCCC will provide a list of all students scheduled to graduate at the end ofeach semester

Articulation for Transfer Students Not Participating in the Joint Acceptance Program

Procedures outlined herein relate specifically to SCCC students who simultaneously apply toSCCC and DC. It is understood that students not participating in the Joint AcceptanceProgram can apply to Dowling College for admission and possible financial assistance in theusual manner.
