General Information

Winkof (Ambroxol Hydrochloride) is a Mucoactive

agent used in the treatment of

respiratory diseases associated with

excessive mucus.

Mucus

Mucus is a slippery secretion produced by mucus membranes. It is a normal protective layering around the airway, eye and urinary tract.

Mucus is an adhesive gel produced in the airway by submucosal glands

and goblet cells and

is principally water.

Phlegm is more related to disease than is mucus. Phlegm is a secretion in the airway during disease and inflammation. Phlegm usually contains mucus with bacteria, dust.

Winkof is a preparation of Ambroxol Hydrochloride.

It possesses both Expectorant & Mucolytic effects.

It increases bronchial secretion and decreases viscosity to

make coughs more productive.

facilitates excretion of it.
