Results achieved: Urban Waste Management Integrated Plan

The systematic proposals of the Villa Alemana Urban Waste

Management Integrated Plan are summarized in the creation of public

policy for the municipal management of solid urban waste;

development and preparation of the population through environmental

education; enhancement and treatment of solid waste so that the

environmental and economic impacts are minimized and conditions

and training for the social integration of scavengers, through new ways

of working in cooperatives and into the municipal cleaning system.

MBT

The project consisted in 4 windrows construction and monitoring of

biological stabilization:

• Windrow 1, 3 and 4: mixed solid household waste;

• Windrow 2: organic green waste in order to generate a compost of

high quality
