A Few Reminders….. Uniforms As mentioned in our welcome letter, it is important that students take pride in our school and wear their full school uniform every day. Below are photos displaying our full school uniform options. This year we have introduced sports shorts for the days students have sporting activities in order to make them more comfortable participating. These shorts can also be purchased within each of the school uniform packs. A note will be sent home stating when classes have timetabled their sports day/s. Just a reminder that school hats are expected to be worn during lunch breaks and sporting activities. They can be purchased from the uniform shop Mondays (2.30pm-3.10pm) and Fridays mornings (8.30am-9.10am) or from the front office at any time for $13.

Our students are looking great in their school uniform and the team Ambarvale spirit is truly showing!

School Rules Our 4 school rules- Be Safe, Be Respectful, Be

Kind and Be a Learner play an important role in creating a positive school environment. We expect students to be displaying these behaviors on a daily basis. We hope that every child enters the school gates at the beginning of the school day with the attitude to be an Ambarvale All Star.

School Supervision Teachers are officially on duty from 8.30am each morning. It is important that students are not at school before this time in order to ensure their safety. We have noticed that a lot of students are being dropped off at the front gate at 8.00am which is putting their safety at risk. The crossing attendants are not responsible for looking after students in the morning. School Contribution Each year the NSW DoE asks that parents make a school contribution to assist with school resourcing. The school contribution has been set at $40.00 per student for the 2018 school year. This contribution is not compulsory, yet assists the school greatly in providing valuable resources for our students.

Staff Car Park Please keep in mind that the school car park is for staff and NSW DoE employees only. The safety of all our students and staff is a priority at all times and we ask that if you are dropping your child/children off at the front of the school, please use the appropriate lanes on the side of the road, allocated for school drop off, not the staff car park. There is also a car park available at the back entrance to the school which is open to the school community.

Drop Off Zone It has come to our attention that some parents

are parking in the drop off zone at the front of the school. Please keep in mind that this zone is for drop off only, it is not for parking and getting out of your car. The parking area is just a little further down the road if you would like to walk your child/children into the school. As mentioned previously, there is also a community car park at the back of the school for your use.

I look forward to hearing about and sharing the great success stories taking place within our classrooms and around our school throughout 2018.

Until next time, Mrs K Green

ASSEMBLY ROSTER 2018

PBL Focus

So far this year, students have been settling into their classes and new routines. Lots of discussions around the school rules and classroom expectations are taking place. Hopefully most students are reaching Ambarvale All Star on a daily basis and we look forward to presenting lots of merit awards in the next few weeks. To be an "Ambarvale All Star" students need to be safe, be kind, be respectful and be a learner. This term, we are implementing the "Fun Friends" program across the school. In Session 1, students are learning to 'be brave' by looking people in the eye, speaking with a brave voice and smiling when they communicate with others. You can practice this at home with your children and encourage them to be brave
