RAINING SEASON | December to May
General Information
RAINING SEASON | December to May The rainy season extends from December to May, and Rio Negro’s flood reaches its peak about mid-June. During this season, temperatures are more pleasant and the rains are more intense. During the flood peak, large marshlands form both in the archipelago and on the mainland, creating an unforgettable setting excellent for exploration. Despite the greater rain frequency, warm sunny days are common during this season. Note: During (from April to August) and on full moon evenings, it might be difficult to find alligators.
DRY SEASON | June to November The water levels of Amazonian rivers vary during the yearly courses of Flood and Ebb. The dry season extends from June to November, and the greatest ebb tide in Rio Negro happens on September, when beaches of white sand are formed along the archipelago. During this season it rains less and the heat is intense, but it is a good idea do be prepared to face torrential rain along the way. Note: In the dry season the tour Monkey Forest is walking.
