Once in the USA, they are hand-dipped in a special wax from Holland. Then, some varieties are rolled in Spanish Moss – with a new treatment in 2021 to keep the moss a deep green color. The bulbs are not harmed or damaged during the waxing or mossing processes. The exterior coating can easily be removed, and the bulbs can live for many years with proper care.In addition to gift stores, these bulbs are sold by florists across the USA. (These cannot be confused with grocery or big box quality bulbs.)

No Green Thumb Needed… The wax treatment allows the bulb to bloom without you doing anything! No planting. No pot. No outdoor space or green thumb required! And no watering! (If you just must be involved, then you can occasionally turn them toward the light.)

These easy-care bulbs are a perfect gift to brighten spaces in nursing homes, assisted living communities, and home offices!Blooming Cycle…. The bulbs have an 8 - 12-week blooming cycle. (After the first blooms wilt, cut the stalk and another will come up! The bulb will have 2 – 4 sets of blooms over several months!) To delay growth, keep the bulbs in the refrigerator (never below 42 degrees F). They will sprout and bloom more slowly in rooms with an ambient temp below 70 degrees F. The warmer and brighter the room temperature, the faster the Amaryllis bulb will sprout and bloom.

Gift Wrap… For the bulbs you are gifting, we will include gift bags that you can then place the bulbs in just before gifting. Pick Up Dates… The bulbs will arrive early November thru early December. Each year, we sell out long before Christmas.On the form you will be asked for your preferred pick-up date range.
