IntroductionTheAmcrestAM-GL300isapowerfulGPStrackerdesignedforasset,vehicle,andevenpettracking.Withacompactbodyandsuperiorreceivingcapabilities,theAM-GL300isarobustproductthatallowsfordetailedtracking.

ChargingtheDevice

TochargetheGPStracker,lifttheflapcoveringthechargingpostandplugthechargercableendintotheunitviatheUSBport,thenplugthechargerintoawalloutlet.

ThebatteryLEDonthefrontoftheGPStrackerwillchangetogreenwhentheGPStrackerisbeingcharged,andwillblinkgreenperiodicallytoindicatethatitstillhaspower.IfthebatteryLEDflashesRed,thatmeansthebatterylevelislow,andtheGPStrackershouldbecharged.

PoweringUpandTurningOfftheDevice

Toturnthedeviceon,pressthePowerbuttononthetopofthedeviceonce.Asthedeviceobtainssatellitesignal,themiddleLED(cellular)willbeginblinkingandwillstartrelayinglocationdata.Toturnoffthedevice,pressandholdthePowerbuttononthetopofthedevice.

ActivatingtheDevice

Afterpurchasingthedevice,youmustpurchaseamonthlyserviceplanthatallowsthedevicetosendyourdatatoyourAmcrestaccount.Youcanactivateyourdeviceathttp://www.amcrest.com/gps-activation.Ifyouchoosetobuyaseconddevice,fillouttheactivationformandbesuretoselect‘ADDTOEXISTINGACCOUNT’underActivationType.

Followtheactivationstepsonthesite,andwithin24hoursafterwardsyouwillreceiveanemailwithdetailsaboutthedevice,alongwiththeusernameandpasswordusedtologontowww.amcrestgps.com.Changeyourpassworduponlogginginforthefirsttimeandbeginenjoyingtrackingyourmovements!

DevicePlacement

Makesurethatthedeviceisplacednearawindoworonasurfacethatdoesnotobstructthesignalreception.Placingthedeviceinthetrunkofacarisnotrecommended.MovetheGPStrackernearwhereyouwanttoplaceitandcheckthegreenGPSsignaltoensurethatreceptionisavailableinthatposition.

Thissetofbuttonsallowstheuserzoominandoutofthemap

Thistaballowstheusertocreateandmanagezones(geo-fences).Beforeyoucreateazone,youmustfirstcreateazonegroup.YoucancreateazonegroupbyclickingtheManageZoneGroupsbutton,thenclickingNewGroup.Namethegroup,thenclickenter.

Thereare3differenttypesofzones:

No-GoZones–Thesezonescantriggeranalarmifthetrackerisdetectedwithinitsboundaries.

Keep-InZones–Thesezonescantriggeranalarmifthetrackerisdetectedoutsideitsboundaries.

Location–Thesezonessimplymarkaspecificlocationonamap.

Tocreateazone,clicktheCreateZonebuttonatthetopofthepageandselectwhichtypeofzoneyou’dliketocreate.Clickdifferentpointsonthemaptocreateashape,thenforthelastpoint,doubleclicktoclosethezone.Oncethezoneisclosed,nameit,ensurethetypeiscorrect,selectazonegroup,thenclickSave.Toaccessmorezonesettings,clickAdvanced.

SelectOptionalTimePeriods–Thisfieldallowstheusertoselectanoptionaltimeperiod(datesandtimes).Ifatimeperiodisn’tselected,thentheeventappliesatalltimes.

OtherCriteria–Thisfieldallowstheusertoselectadditionalcriteriatouseforthealarm.

WhotoNotify:

Thisfieldallowstheusertoselectwhoshouldbenotified,andhowtheyshouldbenotifiedwhenanalertistriggered.EitherSMSorEmailalertscanbesenttospecificpeople.

Thistaballowsforadministrationofassetsanduseraccounts.EachmenuitemontheleftsideopensthemenuforeachaspectoftheGPStracker.Fromthismenu,hardwaredevicescanbeassignedtoassetprofiles,userpermissionsareassigned,andSIMinformationarestored.

Assets:TheAssetssubmenuisdesignedtohelpmanageanyassettowhichyouchoosetoattachtheGPSTracker.Therearethreepresetassettypes(vehicle,driverandportabledevice)tochoosefromoncetheAssetsmainmenuisopened.IntheNewAssetform,thereareoptionstonameAssets,addverbosedescriptionsandphotos.

HardwareDevices:AlldetailsforanyAmcrestGPSTrackeraremanagedhere.Devicesareassignedtoassetprofileswithinthissubmenu.

AssetGroups:TheAssetGroupssubmenuallowsyoutoorganizeyourassetsintogroupsandgivespecificusergroupspermissiontoviewandeditassetinformation.

Users:

Toaddanewuser,firstselecttheUserssectionfromtheClientmenu.SelectNewUser.
