When I think back on my time at St. Louise de Marillac, I think of family, friendship, and education. I think back to the way that STL prepared me for High School. Sure, every elementary school should and usually does, but there was something different at STL. Not only did STL prepare me academically for High School, it provided an environment that enabled me to develop as an individual. It’s hard to pinpoint any one specific contributor. All I know is that I became a better person to my family, my friends, and to society. It was in my eighth grade year when STL’s emphasis on family started to sink in. And, in the years that have gone by since I graduated in 2011, that emphasis continues to hit home each time I visit STL. I can still feel the sense of home. I remember each teacher, each classroom, and especially the lasting memories with good friends. In fact, some of my best friends to this day are former classmates from St. Louise. On the academic front, St. Louise prepared me well for high school. I attended Central Catholic High School and am now at the University of Notre Dame. If it were not for STL, I would not have been prepared for high school. At Central Catholic, I immediately excelled in my classes and I give a lot of this credit to my teachers from STL. They piqued my interest in each subject, and motivated me to exceed. I really can’t say just one or two teachers made the difference. Rather, it was each and every one of my teachers from Kindergarten through 8th Grade. My Kindergarten teacher and I have stayed in touch of the years and we reminisce about the days in Kindergarten 12 years ago. That, to me, just speaks volumes to the quality of the teachers at STL. If I had a chance to do it all over again, would I go to St. Louise de Marillac? In a heartbeat. BILLY BOEHNER CLASS OF 2011 ALUMNI TESTIMONIAL

It was in my eighth grade year when STL’s emphasis on family started to sink in.
