Plymouth University leased an old timber and stone building for

use as one large art room, totaling 575 square metres. As a

Grade I listed building, the lease agreement stated that the

building must be returned to its original state when the three

year lease period expired.

As a member of Recofloor, the vinyl take back scheme

co-founded by Altro, Roberts Flooring will be able to returnthe Altro XpressLay to Altro for recycling when the lease

expires. Altro XpressLay was not only the most cost and time

effective option, but it was also the most sustainable solution

for this project.

* We recommend the use of Altro Aquarius for combined shoe and barefoot use in wet and dry areas such as hospital

bathrooms and Altro Marine 20 / T20 for barefoot use in wet areas such as swimming pool surrounds.

** Caution Ketone/Aromatic Solvents. Please contact Altro for further technical advice regardingstaining and

chemical resistance. Certain chemicals may cause staining of vinyl. Traffic stain can be caused by oil residue,

certain cleaning agents, asphalt and anti-oxidants in some types of rubber.

Installation and Maintenance

Altro XpressLay is loose laid with all joints and perimeters adhered to the sub floor with Altro LooseLayTM double sided

tape. Altro XpressLay should be installed in accordance with Altro XpressLay fitting instructions and local codes of

practice. Please refer to Altro Cleaning Card for maintenance advice. Failure to install and maintain Altro flooring in

accordance with installation instructions can affect its performance and slip resistance. Floors should be protected

from other trades and thoroughly cleaned before handover.
