The Holy father will canonise Blessed Oscar Romero on Sunday 14th October in Rome. So that people can join in the spirit of thanksgiving, Archbishop Malcolm will celebrate Mass at the Metropolitan Cathedral on Sunday 28th October at 11.00 am to mark the canonisation. All parishioners are welcome to attend.
’50 Faces’ of the Holy Land is a photographic exhibition commissioned by the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of England & Wales to highlight and promote the lives of the faithful in Israel, Gaza and the Occupied Territories. The photographs, taken by Marcin Mazur, show how the faces of people are marked with the history, the diversity, the joys and sufferings of the Holy Land. Each face tells a story, each person is a memory. The exhibition has been shown at the Balfour Conference, Clifton Cathedral and recently in the Houses of Parliament. It will be displayed in the Metropolitan Cathedral from Sunday 29th September - Sunday 21st October. Archbishop Patrick will celebrate Mass in the Cathedral on Wednesday, 17th October at 5.15 pm for the intention of the Christians of the Holy Land. All are welcome to attend.
Month of the Holy Rosary The month of October each year is dedicated to the Most Holy Rosary. This is because the liturgical Feast of Our Lady of the Rosary is celebrated annually on October 7th. It was instituted to honour the Blessed Virgin Mary in gratitude for the protection that she gives the Church in answer to the praying of the Rosary by the faithful. Pray the Rosary this month for world peace.
