Samsung New LED TVs Shine Bright in the KINGDOM OF BAHRAIN

Samsung Electronics, a market leader and award-winning innovator in consumer electronics, raises the bar for flat-panel TVs everywhere with the launch of an entirely new line-up of advanced LED HDTVs in the United Arab of Emirates, further bolstering Samsung’s LED range after the resounding success of the Series 9 LED Backlit LCD television earlier this year The new 6000 (available in 32’’, 40’’ and 46’’), 7000 (available in 40’’, 46’’ and 55’’) and 8000 (available in 55’’) LED Series build upon the success of Sam-sung’s first and second generation LED HDTV models. Each using LEDs as their primary light source, the televisions all feature ultra-high contrast ratios as well as slim depths that allow for more artful designs, plus increased energy savings.“Samsung has proven LED technology is a viable choice for consumers desiring the best picture possible from an LCD television. Samsung’s latest LED televisions redefine the standards for viewing quality, energy-efficiency and home entertainment décor,” said Ram Modak, General Manager, Digital Media Business, Samsung Gulf Electronics. “Samsung stays commit-ted to developing technology and products that go beyond current expectations of value, quality and innovation. And, we are excited to be a key part of this exciting point in TV evolution.”

Top-Notch Picture Quality:Each of the three Samsung LED HDTV Series boast high dynamic contrast ratios, complements of Samsung’s ground breaking LED light source.

Compared to a traditional CCFL, LEDs produce darker blacks that appear endlessly deep to the eye. The Ultra Clear Panel further allows the pres-ervation of every detail even in brightly-lit, imperfect viewing conditions. This is done by effectively allowing more light to pass through the screen and simultaneously reducing reflections from ambient light. Samsung’s entire LED HDTV line-up incorporates a number of innovative features to reduce the motion blur and image judder, which traditionally plague LCD HDTVs when displaying fast movement. All three series boast Samsung’s acclaimed Auto Motion Plus™ frame interpolation technology. Lit by LEDs the Samsung 6000, 7000 and 8000 Series all meet the more stringent En-ergy Star® v3.0 guidelines by cutting power consumption to significantly new lows. The Liquid Crystal design is created using a non-toxic molding technique, eliminating the emission of environmental pollutants. The pain use is lead free , making the products recyclable. Energy consumption is reduced by 40%+ versus traditional LCD HDTVs of similar size. The LED HDTVs also include an optimized energy savings mode that adjusts the backlight and picture quality while continuing to produce smoother, more natural images. Moreover, Samsung has reduced the packaging of the new Series, thereby lightening the TVs’ carbon footprint, making the world a greener, cleaner place to live. The new Samsung 6000, 7000 and 8000 are available in all major electronics outlets across the UAE.

The Opening of Sakhir Race Season

From Oct 2009 Bahrain’s love of all things equestrian is evi-dent in its splendid Sakhir Race Course, which has a grand-stand for 3000 spectators. During the racing season, from October to March, you can see beautiful Arabian purebreds and thoroughbreds hurdle and flat race each Friday. Experts from the UK were employed to design and construct the race track in 1981. It consists of two 2.4km grass tracks with a straight of 1.2km, one sand track, and stables for 300 horses. Normally there are six races each day, with an average field of eight runners, five races for thoroughbreds and one for purebreds.Bahrain’s racing industry is largely thriving thanks to the Amir of Bahrain, who has been importing quality bloodstock to improve the local thoroughbred stock, with the aim of racing with locally-bred Thoroughbreds in larger numbers.

District 9Genres: Thriller, Science FictionStarring: Sharlto Copley, Jason Cope, Nathalie Boltt

Thirty years ago, aliens made first contact with Earth.Humans waited for the hostile attack, or the giant advances in technology.Neither came. Instead, the aliens were refugees, the last survivors of their home world. The creatures were set up in a makeshift home in South Africa’s District 9 as the nations argued over what to do with them. Now, patience over the alien situation has run out. Control over the aliens has been con-tracted out to Multi-National United (MNU), a private company uninterested in the aliens’ welfare—they will receive tremendous profits if they can make the aliens’ awesome weaponry work. So far, they have failed; activation of the weaponry requires alien DNA. The tension between the aliens and the humans comes to a head when an MNU field operative, Wikus van der Merwe, contracts a mysterious virus that begins changing his DNA. Wikus quickly becomes the most hunted main in the world, as well as the most valuable – he is the key to unlocking the secrets of alien technology. Ostracized and friendless, there is only one place left for him to hide: District 9.

Avatar

Genres: Sci-Fi Action, 3D Animation

Humans have conquered space and found an alien planet: “Pandora” .They are, of course, inter-ested in harvesting the rich natural resources of the planet, but fragile human lungs can’t handle the atmosphere on Pandora. Fortunately, former Marine Jake was paralyzed from the waist down in battle. With nothing to lose, he volunteers for the “Avatar” project, which transports his mind into an alien “Na’vi” body: now he’s ten feet tall and has blue skin that sparkles in the sun. Jake is supposed to act as a sort of “Locutus of Borg” spokesman for the humans and facilitate the harvest of Pandora’s oil. But he falls in love with a female Na’vi and is torn between his humanity and his new alien friends. Then war breaks out.
