A collaborative graphic art studio project by the designers of Avenue 22

Throughout 2014, Lake Tuggeranong College Graphic Art and Design students have worked in a pseudo-studio

environment known as Avenue 22.

Industry design is a team-oriented exercise and requires young ‘creatives’ to work as part of a collective in order

to achieve the outcomes of a design brief. Operating as Avenue 22 helped students make this connection.

When working through the design process in order to achieve a ‘brief ’, young designers need only look to

nature to find solutions to problems.

Alphabet Zoo is an exploration of the Elements and Principles of Design. Students were challenged to create a vector-based design using Adobe Illustrator from two

randomly selected letters. They were encouraged to consider Australian fauna and/or endangered species

when exploring their nature-inspired designs.
