exclusive Test Talon®. By simply moving the handle to

the “Test” position, the operator can undertake a trial

lift. If the Eagle Lift® successfully lifts the load with

lift confident that the load is within the rated capacity

of the Eagle Lift®.

In many cases, the single most laborious operation associated

with metal cutting is the clamp-ing and unclamping of the work-piece–workholding, and this is largely due to the fact that time appears to have stood still.

A-POD technology is a revolu-tionary new workholding system designed to minimize machine downtime.

WhatmakesA-Podtechnologydifferentfromconventionalmagneticchucks?A set of A-Pods for a given size is significantly more cost effective than the purchase of a single chuck. A-Pods can be split up and placed on different machines unlike a conventional chuck making ROI’s more justifiable. A-Pods will provide adequate force to hold the part and at the same time provide clearance for thru and edge milling operations. A-Pods have a lower depth of field than most (milling) magnetic chucks which make them better for thinner plates.

There is no magnetic interference on thru machining operations since there is no magnet underneath.

A set of A-Pods for a given size have much less weight than a magnetic chuck.

Howdoestheclampforcerelatetomachineforce?The calculation method for determining the number of A-Pods required is very simple and can be simply determined by the machine spindle power.

Whathappenstothechips?Because of the low depth of field, and the flexibility of positioning, A-Pods have less chip interference than any other magnetic system.

IsA-Podbestsuitedtoproductionorone-offenvironments?The first advantage of A-Pod is to provide better acces-sibility to the cutting tool, the second advantage is to reduce set-up time. Both these advantages are equally suitable to production and one-off environments.

Other benefits associated with better workpiece finish, lon-ger tool life, and the fact that the set-up arrangement can be determined by the machine programmer thus taking the burden off the Operator also benefit both industries.

HowdoA-Podsmounttothemachine?Each A-Pod is supplied with a ½"-13 thru bolt and tee-nut. Alternatively, a sub-plate can be manufactured to provide even greater positional flexibility.

HowwouldA-Podworkonmulti-palletmachines?The junction box and pods will remain on the table. A single (removable) cable from the controller will be used to connect the system at each changeover.

All cables and junction box are water tight and designed to withstand hot chips.

CanIaddmoreA-Podstomysystematalatertime?Yes, unlike conventional chucks, there is never a wrong size. A-Pods can be added or relocated to another machine as determined by the application.

Ialsoworkwithnon-ferrousmaterials,doIhavetoremoveA-Podeverytime?No. Many companies need the flexibility of machining magnetic and non-magnetic materials as well as big parts and small parts.

Conventional fixture plates and vices are often made from steel, the A-Pods can be designed to locate and clamp these devices at the touch of a button.

The Alpha ◆ Mill ◆ Round Milling Chuckis a Permanent-Electro Magnetic System, it requires electricity forjust a fraction of a second to polarize the magnets contained within the chuck. No electricity is required tomaintain the magnetism and is therefore “failsafe.” The Alpha Mill Round provides significant magneticclamp force for milling, drilling, tapping and other machining processes, while managing the magnetic flux.

◆ The Alpha Mill Round uses Permanent-Electro Magnetic technology. Power turns magnetism ON or OFF. No Power is required to maintain the Magnetic Clamping. *Available in 110 volt, 220 volt and 440 volt.

◆ Each Pole generates up to 1400 lbs of clamping force.

◆ Magnetic Clamping reduces vibration and increases tool life.

◆ Reduce set up time by up to 50% from conventional fixturing. Allows for 5 face machining in a single setup,therefore reducing the number of setups. It is perfect for contour work.

◆ It is magnetically designed to substantially reduce stray flux, and provide significant clamp force for machining without troublesome chip adhesion.

◆ Top Tooling – Simple mild steel Pole Risers can be used to raise the part off the surface of the magnet for through hole work to maintain polar balance thus further avoiding “troublesome chip adhesion”.

◆ Each Alpha Mill Chuck is engineered and manufactured to a high quality standard and available in 4” incrementsin length and width, approximately 3.75” high.

◆ The magnetic field penetrates only 0.400” deep into the work piece, keeping the surface of the work piece free of magnetism.

◆ The Alpha Mill Round Controller is equipped with circuit breakers, ground fault detection and Current Sensing(to ensure sufficient current has passed to the chuck for maximum magnetic clamping force).

◆ The Alpha Controller has the ability to be integrated into a machine’s PLC.

◆ Mono block construction for greater rigidity and durability.

◆ Solid Steel & Brass surfaces to seal against coolant ingress and maximize clamp force.
