Where to stay The conference will be held at Jefferson Hall, also known as the East-West Center Imin Conference Center (or “Imin Center” for short) at 1777 East-West Road, Honolulu, HI 96848. It is about 15-20 minutes by car from tourist areas such as Ala Moana and Waikiki. The conference committee has blocked some rooms for JUSTEC 2017 participants in three locations: Lincoln Hall (near Imin Center), OHANA Waikiki East and OHANA Waikiki Malia (both in Waikiki, about 25 minutes by public bus). Lincoln Hall at the East-West Center (on-campus accommodation) Address: 1821 East-West Road, Honolulu, HI 96848 Tel: (808) 944-7816 Website: http://bit.ly/2pegYjR Description: A short-term residence hall for scholars, a 5-minute walk from the

conference venue. It operates like a hotel and is managed by the East-West Center. Shopping/restaurant areas such as Mānoa Market Place, Mōʻiliʻili, and Ala Moana Center are accessible by taxi and public bus.

Cancellations:

● Cancellations/changes made after July 5, 2017 and up to 30 days before check-in date will incur a fee of one night's rent per room

● Cancellations/changes made less than 30 days before check-in date will incur two nights' rent per room.

Check-in / Check-out: ● Check-in time: 2:00 p.m. If you arrive early, you can wait in the lobby area or

drop off your luggage and take a walk around campus. There will be Mānoa Campus Visitor Guide booklets available at the front desk (different from this guide you are reading).

● Lincoln Hall front desk hours are 8 a.m. – 8 p.m. If you arrive at Lincoln Hall

before 8:00 a.m. or after 8:00 p.m., you’ll need to check in at Hale Mānoa (open 24 hours) which is about a 5-minute walk from Lincoln Hall (or you can just ask your taxi driver to drop you off at Hale Mānoa, 1711 East-West Road, Honolulu, HI 96848, and then proceed to your room at Lincoln Hall

● Approval of early check-in requests is based on availability (charges will

apply). Requests for specific room numbers or locations cannot be confirmed.

● Check-out time: 10 a.m. Late check-out requests are accommodated based on availability. An unauthorized late check-out will result in a one night’s charge.

Wi-Fi: There will be Wi-Fi at Lincoln Hall - information will be provided to you

when you check in. Parking: Parking at the East-West Center is administered by the University of

Hawai'i. Please indicate that you would like to request parking when making your reservation through the special JUSTEC 2017 request form for Lincoln Hall.

Note: Please note that since residence halls house graduate students and

researchers year-round, “quiet” hours are in effect throughout the year. Smoking is prohibited in all EWC buildings, and in fact on the entire UHM campus.

During the conference The conference days are September 15 to 17. Conference-provided meals are as follows:

September 15: Light breakfast refreshments, lunch, coffee breaks and heavy pupu during the reception (pre-dinner foods)
