4Almería is an attractive city with a rich historical quarter. Its most emblematic monumental heri-tage is the Alcazaba fortress, the largest standing Moorish fortress in Europe.
The City of Almería is located in the south east of the Iberian Peninsula. It is the European city with the most hours of sunlight a year, with over 190,000 inhabitants. It is a peaceful and welco-ming city, full of contrasts. It boasts 40 km of in-teresting beaches on which to enjoy the sun and beach or nature tourism, especially with the vir-gin beaches of Cabo de Gata Natural Park. It has an important commercial and passenger port and a busy airport. In 2005 Almería hosted the XV Mediterranean Games providing the city with nu-merous sports facilities and equipment. The City
of Almería is developing as an important player within business tourism, bringing together count-less attractions for the visitor and offering: im-portant monuments, culture, nature, gastronomy, accommodations, golf, leisure; all combining to make it an urban centre of great interest.
Almería has many favourable conditions to be considered as a destination for business meetings, due to its exceptional year round climate, availability, complementary tourist offer and a hospitable and professional service.
