pendent service companies and their experienced specialists from around the world.

Our approach fills an unmet demand. We are a credible alternative to the major OEMs, ship-

also bring a can do attitude to our work.

Allrig is a global one-stop-shop for all your fleet management needs. Our services include:

quayside project management, jacking and crane parts, hull fabrication or derrick inspection.

We are in the right locations with the approved parts and skilled technicians - wherever and

whenever you need them. We can make a real difference to your bottom line and get you back

on day rate faster than anyone else.

I look forward to sharing more stories with you through our website and social media channels

in the coming months.

Mark HanniganCEO Allrig

Welcome to the first edition of Allyours. In this magazine,

we want to share the many exciting ways we can help

you stay on day rate as you operate safely, profitably and

more efficiently.

A newapproachfor the energy industry

It was clear that we needed to create a single brand iden-

tity that drew on the strengths of all of our heritage brands.

Working with several agencies we embarked on our re-

branding journey. We held brainstorming sessions at all of

our facilities and captured the DNA of each of the busi-

nesses from the employees perspective. We then reached

out to our main clients in each location and asked them

what it was that they liked about each of our businesses.

This helped us distill the essence of our group and define

our common brand values – Believe, Care & Succeed.

Living the brand. Our new name says it best: Allrig. Our

past, present and future are all about rigs so we’ve crea-

ted a radical new service concept whose sole purpose is

to Keep You On Day Rate.

The brand expresses who we are, where we are going and

how we can help our clients. The first step is ensuring that

our team live and breathe the brand. Its vital that they un-

derstand what makes Allrig different and walk the talk.

Our new brand creates a fresh opportunity for us to beco-

me the service partner that the industry is waiting for. The

response from our employees has been overwhelmingly

positive and our global team have embraced their new

identity with passion and energy.

When we brought together the world’s best inde-

pendent service companies, we realized that none

of the individual heritage brands fully described

our new identity and offering.

Whychange?

Ready for the future

The energy industry depends on valuable resources,

which are sometimes difficult to reach. The challenges

are growing and the bar is being raised even higher in

terms of safety, efficiency and competency.

Success requires technical innovation and a de-

termination to keep exploration and production on track.

Now, we are at a crossroads. Where is the industry

headed? How can today’s generation access decades

of offshore drilling expertise? Is there a new business

model that can lead our industry in the 21st century?

The market clearly needs a global partner with a new

approach. Allrig is that partner. We offer a credible alter-

native to the major equipment OEMs, the shipyards and

the class bodies.

With decades of offshore drilling and a presence in every

major drilling region, we can offer you a global one-stop-

shop for all your fleet management needs. Everything

from full quayside project management to ex-stock class

approved parts supply.

The Allrig global field service team, who are competence

assured and trained in the Allrig Academy, are the best

in the industry. All ready and able to empower your busi-

ness and passionately dedicated to reach our one goal:

keeping you on day rate.

THE CHALLENGES FOR THE INDUSTRY ARE GETTING BIGGER AND THE BAR IS BEING RAISED EVEN HIGHER IN TERMS OF SAFETY, EFFICIENCY, AND COMPETENCE

it’s all about the rig

What if one partner …• offered a new approach with global solutions and suppport, • met the highest accreditation and safety standards,• was there for you 24/7,• was dedicated to keep you on day rate …

COSL Drilling prefers service partners who are familiar

with the challenges of old equipment and can han-

dle reverse engineering and deliver under approved

procedures. We own and operate jack up rigs with old

jacking gear parts, which are becoming more difficult

to get hold of.

We do business with Allrig because we can depend

on them. They are highly motivated with a ‘can do’

mentality. If they say they can deliver, they will deliver.

They helped us meet a very difficult deadline. The job

was completed just hours before the jack down on

location. We managed to get things done according

to plan despite challenging circumstances with no

delays to the jacking operation.

For the near future, our main goal will be to keep our rigs

on contract during these hard times. Shorter contracts

are becoming more common. The declining oil price is

leading to the cancellations of some bigger projects.

We will need to be even more cost efficient as layup pe-

riods will most likely be the reality in the future.

Thomas Lund works onshore in CDE head office in the COSL Rigmar and COSLRival’s operations team.

As Maintenance Engineer, Thomas is responsible

for the maintenance onboard the rigs. He aims

to keep the technical equipment onboard well

maintained and in good working order.  In ad-

dition he also has the correspondence with the

class and is responsible to keep the rigs accord-

ing to class regulation at all times. He has been

working offshore for several years on the two rigs

he now has responsibility for. Keeping the tech-

nical integrity on the rigs to a high standard re-

quires a lot of maintenance. The use of third part

companies to perform some of this maintenance

are vital. The maintenance engineer has the cor-

respondence with these companies.

Although COSL Drilling Europe mainly operates in

the North Sea, the Allrig global network will help us

by making a bigger range of parts and services

available.

COSL Drilling Europe AS is a subsidiary to China

Oilfield Services Limited. With its head office lo-

cated in Stavanger, Norway, COSL Drilling Europe

Allrig’s All Stars are the most experienced members of

our global team. These are the guys our clients ask for

by name. By bringing them together under one roof, we

have a team that can solve virtually any problem on a

drilling rig.

that make up Allrig. They chose to stay with Allrig. They

knew that by combining the best of the independents,

we could truly make a difference for our clients and look

after their needs regardless of vessel type or location.

Our All Stars are still very active in our field operations.

They are playing a key role in our Knowledge Academy

(page 17) where they are passing on their knowledge

and expertise to the next generation of technicians.

Mr. Scott W. Marks has been Senior Vice Pres-

ident of Engineering at Noble Corporation

plc and Noble Corporation since January

2007. Mr. Marks has been with Noble since

1991. At Noble, he served as Vice President

of Project Management and Construction,

Vice President of Support Engineering, Di-

rector of Engineering, Project Manager and

Drilling Superintendent.

Noble owns and operates one of the

most modern, versatile and technically

advanced fleets in the offshore drilling

industry. The company is focused on ul-

tra-deepwater and high-specification jack-

up drilling opportunities in both established

and emerging markets.

Noble prefers companies that offer turn-key type ser-

vices – including engineered solutions and follow up

with on-site supervision. Above all, we insist the com-

panies we work with maintain high standards of qual-

ity, integrity and provide realistic delivery expectations.

Proventrackrecord

15

Scott MarksSenior Vice President Engineering

Overall, the merger holds a lot of promise for Noble –

particularly as it is expected to expand the ESI-Willteco

network to other parts of the globe. This allows us to con-

duct business with a service provider with a proven track

record. Additionally, this partnership should help reduce

some of the unknown factors when conducting global

business.

With the addition of more than a dozen newbuilds to the

Noble fleet in recent years, we have one of the indus-

try’s youngest and highest spec fleets. Our highly capa-

ble and efficient rigs depend on increasingly complex

systems. As a result, our business requires highly-skilled,

knowledgeable service technicians. Filling this need is

both the biggest challenge and a huge opportunity for

our industry.

With the current challenging market conditions, we want

our fleet to be the safest and most reliable contract drill-

er with a minimum of downtime.

Allrig appreciates our business and takes personal pride

in their services. Based on our experience, we are confi-

dent in their abilities and professionalism. Allrig is a part-

ner that strives to deliver quality services and solutions.

Never stop learning

The Allrig Academy

Fortunately, Cristina chose Allrig because of the open

environment and can-do business mantra. Cristina is

an Engineering Manager and is currently serving as the

Global Technical Director.

“Everyone here works extremely hard and has a can-

do attitude. People care about improving the compa-

ny and creating a wonderful working atmosphere. Our

executives listen and consider the ideas of every em-

ployee and encourage their professional growth.” she

explained.

Cristina has taken part in Making a Difference, an Allrig

sponsored management training program. She is also

pursuing an MBA and Allrig is picking up the tab.

For Cristina, working under extremely talented execu-

tives and for an expert in the world of jacking systems

design has greatly increased her knowledge and aided

in her professional growth.

“The oil and gas industry is one of the most exciting

fields an engineer can ever dream of being part of. I

appreciate that our executives allow us to be creative

and focus on designing products that are innovative

and cutting edge.

Personally, I am a passionate about the incredible chal-

lenge of working with some of the largest machinery on

the planet!” she added.

The Allrig Academy is a connected network of class-

rooms and work labs dedicated to the capture and

transfer of knowledge from some of the industry’s most

knowledgeable experts to those just entering the field.

As we continue to develop and implement our Acad-

emy approach to solving this very important issue, we

are taking very measured steps. We are creating learn-

ing spaces in each of our facilities and have invested

heavily in equipment to provide a unique, hands-on ex-

perience. We are building courses that incorporate best

practices, regulatory requirements, and class society

recommendations.

The courses being developed are both subject-specific

and product-agnostic at the same time.

For example, an OEM may focus their training course on

the same product we are. However, they will only be limit-

ed to that specific equipment and will not discuss other

OEM’s designs, practices, or products. Allrig routinely has

a broader understanding of all of the equipment em-

ployed by the industry.

Our aim is to create a fully trained and competent new

generation for the drilling industry. We believe that the

more we can empower our client by sharing this infor-

mation, the more we can become a valued and trusted

partner. Our goals are their goals and this approach is

keeping with that spirit. After all we are about keeping

them on day rate.

As a talented engineer living in Houston, Cristina

Canfield had many career options. The city is a

thriving hub for technical and design oriented

businesses.

WHY A TALENTEDENGINEER CHOOSES TO WORK FOR ALLRIG

Over the past few years, the industry has lost valu-

able knowledge through the attrition of senior and

experienced workers. The Academy is Allrig’s effort

to stem that exodus of that lost knowledge and en-

sure that a well-qualified, competent, and trained

work force is fit for duty. Cristina CanfieldEngineer

An innovation

that can save 10 -12 days

a year

The cover, normally called a teardrop cover, due to its

shape has been christened the “Cleardrop” cover with

patent pending. The new cover allows you to see the oil

level verification. It is made of polycarbonate and is 74%

lighter than the previous covers. It is corrosion free, more

shock resistant and easier to install.

This cover is used on the intermediate drive of the jack-

ing system, which elevates the rig up and down. It can

save the client 10-12 days annually for inspections.

Clients can now monitor the intermediate drive when-

ever they want. This was not possible before.

A culture that encourages free thinkers“I had the idea 15 years ago when I worked for LeTour-

neau® as a mechanical technician. ESI gave me the

time and funding to make my idea a reality. It’s exciting

to take an idea and turn it into a physical product. My

experience taught me there are always ways to improve

our product and processes.”

If we want to be the best, we need to stay on the cut-

ting edge of technology and that means we need to

encourage free thinkers like Morgan Spivey.

The added valueof totalservicesolutionsWe are striving to provide an ever expanding

and innovative range of complete service solu-

tions that go beyond the typical service ap-

proach in the offshore market.

Allrig combines the manufacture of class ap-

proved parts, equipment overhaul capability

with the vast experience of our field support

group. Since we are present in every major drill-

ing region of the world, we can offer a global

one-stop-shop for your all fleet management

needs.

Total dockOur virtual shipyard concept is called Total dock.

It is located at the OCIA in Johor Port, Malaysia.

With it, we can now offer a pop-up rig project

workshop in any quayside, port or shipyard in

the world. This ensures that our clients can re-

ceive the same consistent level of service re-

gardless of rig type or location.

Rig3sixty Our new fixed price maintenance program is

called Rig3sixty. With it, we are meeting the chal-

lenges of recent market conditions as we share

both risk and reward with our clients.

We are offering a total maintenance concept

with an all-inclusive annual healthcare contract.

This packages all inspection, parts and certifica-

tion costs into one modest daily rate. As a result,

an unplanned capex spend is transformed into

a predictable and bite sized opex spend. This

program even offers reduced rates when rigs

are off contract.

Rig3sixty is the latest example of how Allrig is

changing the energy industry to keep you on day rate.

Allrig encourages its employees to innovate in order

to Keep our Clients on Day Rate and Morgan Spivey

is a good example of this. Morgan is an R&D Project

Co-ordinator from Allrig’s Vicksburg, MS facility and

had an idea for a plexiglass cover for the jacking sys-

tem on a LeTourneau® 375kip Jack up rig.

Morgan receives the Chairman’s Awardfor innovation from Keith Mitchell
