22 January 2015 Dear Sophie I am writing this letter to apply for the 3 month internship position at IndigoCult as advertised on the Manchester Fashion Network website. I am currently in my final year studying Fashion Business at the City of Liverpool College where I have learnt about all the different aspects of the fashion industry including visual merchandising, marketing and buying for retail. I have been offered a place at Manchester Metropolitan University to study a BA (Hons) Degree in Fashion Buying and Merchandising which will start in September 2015 and so the opportunity to work with IndigoCult would be a fantastic chance to broaden my buying experience. I have previous experience within an administration background dealing with high-level workloads for Directors, which has helped me to develop my organisation and communication skills. In November 2014 I visited a fashion conference “Celebration of Style”, where I interviewed industry professionals including the Head Buyer at Matalan, and the owner of Cricket, Justine Mills. As well as visiting the “Celebration of Style” event I have also attended Graduate Fashion week which was very inspiring and motivated me to work hard to achieve my future goals. I am very passionate about the fashion buying industry and believe that my creative skills coupled with my previous administration experience would make me a valuable asset you your business. For your information I have attached a copy of my CV and also a link to my online portfolio which I have developed in college. I look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards Yours sincerely Jacqueline Farrow Online Portfolio - http://issuu.com/jackifarrow/docs/online_portfolio/1

However, any experience would be fantastic (marketing, styling, and visual merchandising) to broaden my skills and enhance my CV. I have been offered a place at Manchester Metropolitan University to study a BA (Hons) Degree in Fashion Buying and Merchandising, which will start in September 2015, and so the opportunity to complete work experience or shadow one of your staff members for a day would be a fantastic chance to broaden my buying experience. I am very passionate about the fashion buying industry and will be visiting Shop Direct styling studios in Speke on 30th January with my fashion business tutor as Shop Direct is the company that I would love to work for in the future. However, any experience would be fantastic (marketing, styling, and visual merchandising) to broaden my skills and enhance my CV. I am in my final year studying Fashion Business at the City of Liverpool College and we are now at the stage where we are applying for placements etc. My current course has taught me about all the different aspects of the fashion industry, and I have also been offered a place at Manchester Metropolitan University to study a BA (Hons) Degree in Fashion Buying and Merchandising, which will start in September 2015. The opportunity to complete work experience or shadow a staff member for even a day would be a fantastic chance to broaden my buying experience. As well as visiting the “Celebration of Style” event I have also attended Graduate Fashion week where River Island held a talk. I was able to speak to one your buyers there and ask a few questions, which was very inspiring and motivated me to work hard to achieve my future goals. For your information I have attached a copy of my CV and also a link to my online portfolio, which I have developed in college. My portfolio is based around a small concession that I have created under the River Island brand name and which started from simple hand drawn and digital illustrations. My college is very flexible and are allowing time off on a Wednesday, Thursday and Friday to complete any work placements. Thank you for taking the time to read through my letter and I look forward to hearing from you. Kind regards Yours sincerely Jacqueline Farrow
