How are natural wonders formed?
Natural wonders are not made by people. Most of these wonders were created by water or wind over many years.

How are canyons formed?
Canyons are formed by erosion caused by rivers.
Types of canyonsSlot canyons are narrow. They are formed by rushing water
Box canyons are small but have very steep sides
Canyons can even exist in the sea floor. These are called submarine canyons.
The Grand Canyon
About the Grand Canyon
The Grand Canyon is the most famous canyon in the U.S. It is an example of one of these landforms. This canyon is over a mile deep and was formed by the Colorado River. Grand Canyon National Park is located in the state of Arizona.
Why are canyons interesting to me?
I like canyons because it is interesting to see how water and wind can create so many different shapes and colors.
