OIL-ADDITIVESFor every kilometer you drive you pay with a tiny piece of the engine,because of friction and wear. This can be seen from accumulated metalsabrasion in the oil. With Liqui Moly Oil Additiv/MoS2 Anti-Friction and Cera Tec this wear can be reduced. In spite of all efforts to produce smoothmetal surfaces they remain, when viewed under a microscope, rough anduneven (Fig. 1). These irregularities are compensated for with the applicationof solid lubricants such as molybdenum disulfide (MoS2) or microceramics(Fig. 2). Surface treatment considerably reduces frictional resistance andwear: chemical agents, or so-called friction modifiers (as found in MotorProtect) chemically bond with the metallic surface and smooth the highpoints of metal pairing surfaces, thereby eliminating damage (Fig. 3).Cera Tec combines both of the following acting principles:The microceramic solid lubricant fills the coarseness of the metal, while achemical reaction protects and smoothes the surface (Fig. 4).

The engine combustion process leaves behind fuel residues. Deposits thatform and adhere to surfaces in combustion chambers, on injectors, valvesand injector tips of Diesel engines.The result: impairment of engine performance, higher fuel consumption,Diesel clatter, higher smoke emis sion, more pollutants. With Liqui Molyadditives exis ting deposits are removed and new ones prevented. Thecombustion is improved.
