Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? “And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers in the field grow. They do not labour or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendour was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will He not much more clothe you, you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first His kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. Matthew 6:25-34 Whilst there is huge depth and complexity to these verses, there is also a simple truth. God does love us and He will care for us. Seek God and His righteousness. A simply way to live in very complex times. Kieran Graham College Principal

Dear Parents, Teachers, Students and Friends,

Whilst in Vietnam, team debriefing time was one of my fondest memories. Coming back to the hotel after spending an exhausting day or evening helping, playing games, talking or various other activities and discussing the thoughts and feelings our team had was very rewarding. There was such a wide range of emotions and feelings about the day that it was hard to imagine we all shared the same day.

The discussion started with “Your most memorable moment…!” These memories usually lead the group into tears of laughter as we remembered little parts of the day that we forgot. Laughter brings a group together. The discussion around the group would then move towards “Your most challenging moment…!” These were a lot harder, yet a lot more profound. “Giving a wheel chair to a man who had been bedridden for 38 years.” “Hearing the story of a man who lost 4 daughters and a wife in a bomb raid during the Vietnam War.” “Seeing how little the children had, while still being so happy with life.” “Hearing about how an unwed mother is disowned by her family.” “Meeting people with so little, yet being more happy than I.”

It quickly became apparent that the challenges our students faced came from the understanding that we have so much in our society and they have so little, yet their lives were filled with joy and happiness. These debriefing sessions became more than a recap of the day’s events and became a soul searching time to think about our priorities in life.

Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?

DAMPIER DOWNLOAD

Dampier had a fierce and tough competition this week playing

against Flinders, unfortunately we lost to our rivals but still had the

strength and courage to persevere.

Thank you to all our diligent players, it has been an awesome

Interhouse Competition this term.

GIBSON ROOS RUNDOWN

Gibson Roos were on a winning streak last Wednesday against

Hamersley kicking a score of 10 vs. 1. We are versing Hamersley

again next Wednesday 17th of June and it looks promising in our

favour again.

Well done The Roos! Keep up the good work team! Morgan and Tom

had good team chemistry happening on the day. GO THE ROOS!!

FLINDERS

Dampier Ducks For Cover after 6 - 1 Feeding Frenzy.

Flinders have secured their 7th victory in a row after defeating their competition rivals Dampier on Monday. Things appeared to be going swimmingly for the Sharks right from the whistle, with the dynamic duo Jason War-Machine Macfarlane and Kurt the Anchor man Hindmarsh netting several goals during the first half. The Mighty Cray

appeared to be in top form, scoring off the boot from a corner ball.

The Sharks defensive line remained solid, with the fortress pair Nicole Osborne and Naomi Makuei pacifying many goal scoring opportunities. A final mention goes out to the Lumber Man, Arno Von Tonder who played an outstanding dual role as goal keeper and defensive center midfield.

From here Flinders head through to the finals where they will face Dampier again. Will there be an upset or will the Sharks remain undefeated for Semester One. Come down on Monday 22nd June in something blue and show your support for the Sharks.

HAMERSLEY NEWS

been desperate for players. We unfortunately did not make

it into the grand final for this term, but we are excited to

start building our team for European Handball next term.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank all the

dedicated Hamersley supporters who have turned up every

week to cheer us on. Rest well Hamersley players as we are

going to hit the turf with vigour and enthusiasm next term.

Tuesday 16 June

Be afraid, be very, very afraid… we are planning to go and watch the scariest movie on the planet. Students and staff are going to watch Steven Spielberg’s latest Movie Jurassic World on Tuesday 16 June after school. Students will appreciate why we need to study…Biology, History, Chemistry, Physical Education and Mathematics in this movie… Twenty-two years after the events of Jurassic Park, Isla Nublar, an island located off Central America's Pacific Coast near Costa Rica, now features a fully functioning dinosaur theme park, Jurassic World, as originally envisioned by John Hammond. This new park is owned by Simon Masrani (Irrfan Khan), CEO of the Masrani Corporation. Owen Grady (Chris Pratt), a member of the park's on-site staff, is a trainer of a group of Velociraptors, known as Blue, Charlie, Delta and Echo. At the corporation's request, the park's geneticists create a hybrid dinosaur known as Indominus Rex (resembling a T. rex in appearance and having the genetic material of Giganotosaurus, Rugops, Majungasaurus, and Carnotaurus, giving it its distinctive head ornamentation and ultra-tough bony osteoderms with horns placed above the eye orbit) to boost visitor attendance. Claire Dearing (Bryce Dallas Howard) is the park's operations manager. Her nephews, Zach (Nick Robinson) and Gray (Ty Simpkins), are visiting the island when the hybrid escapes and are subsequently caught up in the creature's deadly rampage. It then becomes the responsibility of Owen and Jurassic World's security team to contain the hybrid dinosaur before she can cause more damage. Oh dear…will I ever sleep again?
