What is CTE College Credit?CTE College Credit is a program that grants FREE college credit for approved high school career and technical education (CTE) programs. CTE programs are a sequence of high school elective classes (generally three years), taught at the high school by high school teachers, preparing students to be college and career ready!
There are over 70 CTE programs oered in high schools throughout Nevada, many of which are approved and articulated for CSN college credit. The college credit awarded is designed to give students a head start on their pathway towards completing requirements within an industry certication, CSN certicate of achievement or CSN associates degree. CTE College Credit gives students the ability to minimize the repetition of similar coursework in college and save money!

Message from The Program Manager
Warm greetings! Our goal, within CTE College Credit at CSN, is to
increase the academic opportunities for CTE students through
secondary to postsecondary articulated pathways. We want to
help students earn college credit and understand the CSN
programs where those credits can fulll requirements. There are
currently 39 articulated CTE programs with direct degree or
certicate pathways to 92 CSN programs. These are a lot of
options! However, we are not done. Look forward to changes
ahead as additional CTE program reviews are completed.
The CTE College Credit program application is open to high
school CTE students for approximately 7 months each school
year (mid-Fall through Spring semesters). We are now halfway
through the semester which means that our program
application deadline is around the corner. Please encourage all
eligible students to apply before the May 19, 2017 deadline. By
doing so, this will ensure that their credit is posted by the end of
August 2017. I hope that you nd the newsletter informative. As
always, we are here to help and enjoy hearing from you!

The objective is to develop articulation agreements that lead students toward earning CSN postsecondary credentials in less time and at less cost.
We are excited to share that we have developed new articulation agreements for Pastry & Baking and Video Production. Additionally, we have enhanced the agreement for Graphic Design. This brings our total number of articulated secondary CTE programs to 39! The complete list outlines the required high school classes within each CTE program, the CSN college credit granted/articulated credit, and the CSN degree or certicate pathway, which can be found on the program webpage.

CTE Students Graduate at Higher Rates - Student engagement in career pathways can lead to higher graduation rates, as demonstrated through the comparison of the Nevada graduating class of 2016 cohorts of CTE students and the general student population. The findings indicate that the graduation rate for CTE students is 85.73%, which is 11 percentage points higher than the overall graduation rate of 74.88% for all Nevada students.
