“Hello fellow Alien! Welcome to Earth! Do you have a name?” *alien speaks in strange language* “Okay then…. We should name the little guy! What do you think we should name him, Pinkie?”“No Pinkie.. How about we name him.. Stitch!?”“I think Stitch misses his home..Don’t worry Stitch, once you learn more about the amazing wonders of earth, I think you’ll start to really like it here!”

“Lets name himPokey Smokes!”

“Wait.. No. Lets nameHim.. Beanie!”

“I got the perfectone this time! Letsname him WasabiFuzzlebutt!”

“Stitch is agood name!Sure!!!!”

ArchipelagoArchipelago is a sea or stretch of water containing many islands. I don’t think Stitch likes the Archipelago very much.. Lets show him something else.. “Lets go Pinkie and Stitch!”

AtollAn atoll is a ring-shaped, island, or chain of islands formed by coral. “Pinkie, why are you upside down?” Pinkie- “Because it’s so much FUNNNN!!”

BasinA low-lying area on the Earth’s surface in which thick layers of sediment have accumulated. Some basins are bowl-shaped while others are long stretched out shapes.

BayAn area of the sea that stretches into land.

CanalA canal is an artificial waterway constructed to allow the passage of boats or ships inland or to convey water for irrigation.

Canyon

A deep gorge, sometimes has a river flowing through it.“Hey Stitch, are you starting to like it here yet?” *speaks in weird language* “Okay… Lets move on!”

CapeA cape is a piece of land that goes out into the sea.Like Cape Cod! ;)

DeltaA river delta is a landform that forms at the mouth of a river, where the river flows into a body of water. Deltas form from sediment carried by the river as the water flows out.

Desert A desert is a large, dry,

barren region, and usually has sandy or rocky soil and very little vegetation.

Fjord A fjord is a long, narrow sea that is bordered by steep cliffs.

GulfA gulf is a large area of a sea or ocean and its partially close to some land. “Are you liking it so far here, Stitch?” *nods head yes* “That’s great! Lets move on! Where did you get that guitar??!”

Island

An island is a big piece of land surrounded by water.

Isthmus

An isthmus is a narrow strip of land with water on either side joining two larger portions of land.

Lake

A lake is a large body of water surrounded by land.

MountainA mountain is a natural elevation of the earth’s surface rising from the ground.

OceanAn ocean is a body of salt water that covers nearly three fourths of the earth.“Looks like Stitch is starting to enjoy it here!! That’s great!”

Peninsula

A peninsula is a piece of land surrounded by water.

PlainsA large area of flat land with some trees including a few animals. Like the bison in the picture! Pinkie & Stitch seem very happy!

PlateauA plateau is an area with very high ground.

RiverA river is a large natural stream of flowing water that makes its way into the sea, a lake, or another stream of such.

SeaPart of an ocean that is partially surrounded by land.

StraitA narrow passage of water connecting two seas or two large areas of water.

Valley

A valley is a low area of land between hills or mountains. Occasionally with a river flowing through it.

VolcanoA volcano is a mountain or hill having a crater or vent with lava and rock fragments that are being erupted through the earths surface.
