Alice In Legacyland: Ch. 1

Page 2: Alice In Legacyland, Chapter 1

Hello! Welcome to Chapter 1 of Alice in Legacyland. This is my first time uploading on Slideshare/Livejournal, so I apologize if the pictures suck. But for now, onwards!

Alice looked down. After going through the portal to Wonderland, she’d changed immediately. Her boobs were bigger, her cheekbones more defined, and she was bedecked in a lovely blue dress. She squinted up at her new home. It was a grand dormitory, it really was. She squared her shoulders and headed in.

She walked inside, and remembered the room number she’d been given by the counselor. She noticed other freshmen and their families lugging furniture into the small room, and felt a pang of sadness. But she cleared out the sadness and remembered that these people were in mortal peril, and she had to save them. If it meant having to endure Kodak moments, so be it.

After throwing the blue sheets she’d weaseled from the housing department, she went downstairs to her dorm’s computer lab. She went on to declare her major, but was having trouble. All she wanted in life was to throw a golden anniversary party, so she chose the most interesting major there; drama.

Page 6: Alice In Legacyland, Chapter 1

She spent the rest of move-in day getting to know her latchkey dorm mates, like Tiffany Perry, most of who didn’t expect a blonde like her to not have any family to say goodbye to.

Later that evening, she decided to get familiar with the campus. Maybe she would meet a friend or two; maybe even a cute boy. Her first stop was the campus coffeehouse; Romara Coffee Shop.

“Hi, I’m Alice. I think we stay in the same dorm…?” Alice ventured.“Yeah, I’m 306, you’re 311. I’m Eric Reeves, by the way. Nice to officially meet you, Alice…” “Wonder!” She supplied, a little to eagerly. “Alice Wonder.” “Ah. Well,” Eric checked his watch. “I must be off. I’m on a tour of the campus,” he explained. Nice to meet you, Alice!”

Alice sighed and watched Eric walk out of Romara. She timidly went up to the counter.“Hi, can I just have a regular cappuccino?”

Page 10: Alice In Legacyland, Chapter 1

The barista nodded. “So, I saw you talking to Eric. You must be so lucky to have caught his attention like that. He’s been here a few times before, and all I could do is swoon,” she said. “Oh, er, thank you,” Alice said, taking her cup and sliding the money across the counter rather fast.

Alice sat herself down in a chair by the fire. All around her, upperclassmen were deep in discussion.“Well, I never expected such juvenile reading. The Odyssey, please. “ The girl talking rolled her eyes and looked at Alice. Alice felt uncomfortable. The biggest book she’d read was Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. She drained the rest of her cappuccino and set it on the table in front of her. She walked out quietly, but as fast as she could.

She looked vaguely at the person in front of her, and decided to follow him. She ended up at the Little Fallorayne Ampitheatre.

“Wow! Fancy meeting you here, Eric!” Alice said, walking up to the handsome fellow blonde. “Yes, a pleasure indeed,” Eric laughed.“So what brings you here?” Alice asked.

Page 14: Alice In Legacyland, Chapter 1

“I’m trying to find the best place for quiet study. Romara seemed too intellectual, and here’s nice, but I think it’ll be too loud of an atmosphere.”“Might I suggest the library?” Alice joked. Eric laughed.“Well, sorry to bail on you again, but I have to go. It’s getting a little late, and I have an early class. Nice to see you again, though!” Eric said, waving goodbye.

Trying to blend in, she walked up to a counter.“Can I help ya?”“An espresso, please,” Alice said. The barista nodded at her.

Page 16: Alice In Legacyland, Chapter 1

“Is this for Eric?” The barista winked. “Er, no. We’re just friends, thanks,” Alice said quickly, forking more bills out of her changepurse. “Oh, right, like I haven’t heard that one before,” she snorted, sliding over Alice’s espresso. “You guys’ll be making out in the corners before ya know it,” she said, stuffing the bills in her apron pocket. Alice just grabbed her espresso and walked toward the stage.

She took a deep sip, wondering why everyone was commenting on Eric. On the plus side, though, Wonderland U did have excellent coffee.

Page 18: Alice In Legacyland, Chapter 1

On the stage, a practice session of sorts was going on. There was a Secret Society member tuning and strumming the guitar,

Page 19: Alice In Legacyland, Chapter 1

And also a boy in a red sweater playing in time with the girl’s strumming.

Alice bent over and put a $20 bill in each of their tip jars. She smiled and made a mental note to come here soon.

The next morning…

“So, I hear Eric’s totally doing that new girl,” Valerie Tang said, spreading butter on her pancakes.

Page 22: Alice In Legacyland, Chapter 1

Blair Clark looked at his outspoken friend. “Well, she is totally bangin’. I would tap that,” he said, leaning back in his chair.

Page 23: Alice In Legacyland, Chapter 1

At the next table over, Alice slumped over her assignment. ‘Bangin’ was not exactly how she wanted to be known. And it hurt, too.

Page 24: Alice In Legacyland, Chapter 1

“Guys, stop,” Eric said. “Aw, a knight in shining armor,” Valerie cooed. “I’m not going out with Alice,” Eric said. “But you still shouldn’t objectify her like that, Blair. It’s wrong.” Blair just rolled his eyes and ran a hand through his greasy black hair.

Page 25: Alice In Legacyland, Chapter 1

Valerie looked up.“C’mon, guys, let’s give loverboy some space,” she said, pushing in her chair.

Page 26: Alice In Legacyland, Chapter 1

“I’m with Blair on this one,” Griff Ku said, passing Alice.

Page 27: Alice In Legacyland, Chapter 1

“Eric, hi, I just wanted to thank you for that. It was really nice of you, and I’m sorry for all the crap you’re getting from your friends about me.”

Page 28: Alice In Legacyland, Chapter 1

“It’s no problem, Alice. You’re a nice girl; you don’t deserve that.” “Really?”“Sure. How about we hang out sometime. I’d like to get to know you better.“That, be awesome, Eric!” Alice said, her heart aflutter. “Thursday night in the common room, and it’s a date.” Eric grinned, excusing himself from the table.

Page 29: Alice In Legacyland, Chapter 1

Alice spent the days until Thursday night trying to keep herself busy. She clipped hedges and cleaned the dorms, and when Thursday rolled around, she couldn’t wait.

Page 30: Alice In Legacyland, Chapter 1

“Thanks for coming, Alice.”“No problem!”“Okay, sooo, do you have any siblings or anything?” Eric asked.

Page 31: Alice In Legacyland, Chapter 1

“I wish. My parents abandoned me when I was really little, so I could, I dunno,” Alice said. The conversation went like this for about an hour, until it started to get late. Several days later, and Eric still hadn’t spoken to Alice. So Alice decided to take things into her own hands, and cornered Eric in the dorm library.

Page 32: Alice In Legacyland, Chapter 1

She just walked right up and kissed him. His hands ran through her hair, and you could tell she caught him by surprise. “What was that, Alice?” Eric asked breathlessly.“Sorry, it’s just, I really like you, Eric. And I didn’t know how else to show my feelings. I’m not the shyest, in case you haven’t noticed,” Alice giggled.

Page 33: Alice In Legacyland, Chapter 1

“And I like that about you,” Eric said, going in for another kiss.Alice thought she might just be in love.
