walkers. Fun begins at 6:00 pm.

Agenda

(1) The pot luck: The club provides ham and turkey. Bring your favorite dish to share and plates,

silverware and drinks for you and your guests. Cups, coffee and water are kindly supplied by

Brookdale. Please RSVP Bev by Dec. 10, to say you’re coming so she’ll know how many are eating.

(2) After eats: a short meeting and vote for the 2019 officers. Speak up if you would like to be an officer.

(3) Next, The Gift Exchange : $15 suggested maximum, should you choose to participate. There have been

persons finding the Gift Snatch painful or opposite the festive mood. However, Albany Fitwalkers carry

on with the Gift Snatch.

2019 Winter Walk Contest The contest remains in the same format as 2018.

Contestants can Download and print out forms to

keep track of their walks. Submit completed forms

electronically or mailed to Ed for the drawing in

April. Instead of prizes from REI , Visa Gift cards

will be awarded.

For those of you that were given a Winter Walk

Contest cover sheet and log sheet. These need to

be received by Ed Hainline

by April 10, 2019, to be entered in the drawing.

You may want to write that date on your cover

sheet. Hope you will take part.

The Rogue Valley Walkers cancelled Rogue

Valley Riches Walks in 2019 and instead offer a

multiday Event in 2020 in Ashland. All those with

reservations for the 2019 Event should make sure to

cancel.

Ocean Shores, WA Feb 16-18, 2019

Dear Walkers,

Last year I went to NYC where I

participated in the annual “Great Saunter”

walk around the island of Manhattan. This

walk is sponsored by the Shorewalkers

founded by Cy Adler. He recently died at

age 91. In the lengthy NY Times obituary is

a quotation by him: “The walker is the

supreme conservator; he does not add

pollution to the air or water, he does not

waste natural resources, he destroys

nothing.” I thought that’s an admirable

thought and wanted to share it with you.
