    1. Introduction This document gives supplementary information for connecting the different SiteStar battery cabinet HW versions alarm cable to the FPRA Flexi Power Rectifier module or directly to Flexi BTS system module via the SiteStar alarm connection bar.

Full details on the installation of the SiteStar cabinet can be found in the SiteStar Installation Manual, which is supplied with cabinet.

Alarm connection details for connecting FPRA further to both GSM/EDGE and WCDMA applications please refer to separate FPRA Alarm Connection document.

Note: SiteStar cabinet delivery includes the alarm cable.

    3. SiteStar Alarm Connections 3.1 Single alarm connection

The following SiteStar cabinet versions provides multiple alarms bundled into a single alarm output - CS7000100.00

The alarm can either be connected as normally closed (NC) or normally open (NO). The external alarm will be triggered by: CLU failure: compressor fail, heater fail (if equipped), fan fail or controller fail Temperature: Internal temperature outside regulation window or external

temperature outside system specification Door open Mains failure During cabinet startup sequence the external alarm will be trigged several times. Ext Alarm cable (9-pol D-SUB) connection is following:

    Pin 1 NO2 COM3 NC4 5 6 7 8 GND9 +12VDC

Alarm cable is connected to CLU (D9) and other end can be connected eg to FPRA alarm input, see Figure1 and Figure7.

The procedure for installing and grounding the Alarm cable is as follows:

Connect the screening to position A on the drawer assembly with a cable-tie (refer to Figure9 for details). Ensure the cable screen firmly touches the sidewall of the drawer as this provides the grounding of the cable screen.

    Figure9. Cable screening location.

Push the drawer back into its slot horizontally until the drawer pin matches the internal

connector of the PDA and secure the two thumbscrews.

This chapter applies to a connection to the Flexi EDGE and Flexi WCDMA Base Stations.

CABLE REQUIRED: FSAA Cable 471628A (separate sales item)

Cut the 37 way D-type connector from cable assembly 471628A, leaving the MDR-36 connector intact.

Insert the alarm cable thru SiteStar cabinet cable entry. Connect the twisted pair cables to the SiteStar alarm connection bar against pre-wired

SiteStar alarms (Fig3). Connect the MDR36 connector to the EAC connector of the System Module

5.3 FPRA alarm cable connection via SiteStar alarm connection bar

Having FPRA used together with SiteStar, the FPRA alarms are possible to route via SiteStar alarm connection bar at cabinet bottom (Fig3).

Insert the alarm cable coming from FPRA thru SiteStar cabinet cable entry. Connect the twisted pair cables to the SiteStar alarm connection bar (Fig3) using the empty

screws terminals on left hand side of pre-wired SiteStar alarms. Ensure the FSAA alarm cable (ref 5.2) is also connected with FPRA alarms via SiteStar

    alarm connection bar.

NOTE: FPRA delivery does not include alarm cable, eg FSAA cable can be also used between FPRA and SiteStar by cutting off connectors at both ends.
