11 above ground floors. The hotel comprises of 235 rooms. Hospitability service areas. Amenities including ballroom with max

capacity of 600 people. Indoor pool and gymnasium. Business center.

Project Type : Corporate Office TowerProject Location : Al-KhobarProject Scope : Includes a bank retail branch outlet on

the ground & mezzanine floors. Eight floors above contain the offices of

the bank departments.

Project 5: Public Pension Agency Retail Complex - COMPLETED

Project Type : Commercial Retail ComplexProject Location : RiyadhProject Scope : Approximately 175,000 sq m strip of

land for the Public Pension Agency into prime roadside commercial retail outlets.

Consist of 125 high-end retail outlets of double volume ceilings and glass.

SCHEDULING

Second stage: Project team reviews the initial schedule.If the schedule is not satisfactory, project team may add more resources to reduce the duration of the project.

The scheduling method consists of four (4) stages:

First stage: Review the tasks and break them down into activities and sub-activities with their associated resources that can be easily managed.Identifies dependencies among activities. Once the work of the SMEs is completed, theyDraw an initial schedule assuming unlimited resources.

Third stage: If the team is still not satisfied with the

outcome of the second stage schedule, they may consider changing the construction

methods and/or crashing some critical activities that require highly skilled/highly paid

labor.

Fourth stage: Prepared by the site engineer as “ One-week look ahead” and reviewed by project team

CONTROLLING

The controlling follows two processes:

Updating – obtaining the progress data

from the site and update the plan.

Monitoring – applying the “Earned Value”

concept.

CONCLUSION

Latifia is considered one of the largest

construction companies.

Its success is attributed to a robust project

management system.

Currently, SR500M is the minimum acceptable

value to undertake a project.

Planning, scheduling and controlling practices

conform to the methodology covered in CEM 510.
