Al Ghad Al Mushriq Private School Sultanate of Oman, Muscat Primary Section
News Flash June’2015 edition Dear Parents ,
As the academic session comes to a close, our minds and hearts are filled to the brim. It’s been a great year! Together we’ve learned so much and shared experiences that will long remain with us in the years to come.
Each of your children has brought such joy and happiness to the school. My friends and family often laugh at me when I refer to your children as “my kids”. They are like my own children. They all have touched my life and this school in very positive and rewarding ways. Special thanks to all of you who have contributed in ways small, large and unimaginable! Thanks for getting your kids to school on time each day, for kind notes of encouragement that mean so much, for sending your kids with healthy lunches obviously packed with love, for making sure homework gets done… and turned in. Thank you for providing rich and engaging, well-rounded experiences for your children and knowing that education is about joy, wonder and fostering curiosity, along with the development of social skills so needed to succeed. For these, and a million other things, we are truly grateful. Having parental support and open lines of communication is an essential part of any successful school year. Today’s technology can help us continue the relationships we have built. Towards this objective, I sincerely encourage and welcome sharing of ideas from you. As your child moves to the next grade, there are some very important things you can do to help them succeed. Please do engage in meaningful conversations with your child every day. Take out quality time (if only a few minutes a day) to really listen to what they have to say. Read to and listen to your child. Practice those multiplication facts as a way to really be ready for mental math. Help your child develop a sense of working and solving problems independently. Talk about ways and start practicing getting and staying organized. Encourage your child to write often! Writing stories, letters, journal entries etc. are great ways to get thoughts organized and put onto paper. These little things will lead to big successes next year.On behalf of the school and staff, I would like to welcome our KG-2 students to the Primary Section and wish good luck to our Grade 5 students moving on to the Secondary Section.Have a fantastic summer and enjoy a restful and replenishing break with your families!God Bless and Happy Vacations.
Warm RegardsFatima Asif Suhail Senior Mistress,Primary Section.
