AAU Ten Years of Giving, AAU’s Graduation Ceremony of the 10th Batch Under the Patronage of Sheikh Nahyan Bin MubarakUnder the patronage of His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Culture and the Knowledge Development, Al Ain University of Science and Technology organized and the Graduation Ceremony for the 10th Batch, which coincides with the celebrations of the university over ten years of its founding, under the slogan (Ten Years of Giving) The ceremony was held at the theatre of the Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi, in the presence of His Excellency Dr. Ahmed Al Falasi, Minister of State for Higher Education, Dr Noor El Deen Atatreh - AAU Chancellor, Professor Ghaleb El-Refae –AAU President, Professor Abdelhafid Belarbi –AAU Vice President, AAU members of the Board of Trustees, in addition to representatives of the governmental and private institutions, representatives of diplomatic missions in UAE, AAU academic and administrative staff and the graduates’ families.

AAU organized the 11th IEEE UAE Student Day 2016In the context of supporting the student projects, Al Ain University of Science and Technology organized the 11th IEEE UAE Student Day 2016 at the new Campus at Mohammad Bin Zayed City – Abu Dhabi. The opening ceremony was attended by Dr. Noor El Deen Atatreh -AAU Chancellor, Prof. Abdulhafeed Belarabi –AAU Vice President, Dr. Wathiq Mansoor -Steering Committee Chair, Dr. Pedro Banda -DEWA R&D Director, a number of participants students in the competition from different universities and visitors from inside and outside the university.

AAU Participates in the Third Arab-Euro Conference on Higher EducationIn the framework of its keenness to participate in the international conferences and to strengthen the prospects of cooperation between other universities, Al Ain University of Science and Technology has participated in the Third Arab-Euro Conference on Higher Education, which was hosted by the University of Barcelona in the Barcelona City of Spain, under the slogan “Opportunities and challenges for Arab and European universities in fulfilling their societal mission”, where Dr. Noor El Deen Atatreh –AAU Chancellor and Professor Ghaleb El Refae, AAU President, participated in the conference.

AAU organized a workshop entitled (The Response to Disasters and Emergency Cases)In collaboration with the Emirates Foundation “SANID”, the Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University of Science and Technology –Al Ain Campus- organized a workshop entitled (The Response to Disasters and Emergency Cases) which was presented by the trainers Nada AL Hasan and Khamees Yousef. The workshop continued for two consecutive weeks, which involved a group of university students in addition to participants from outside the university.

The College of Law Students Win the Second Place in the Legal and Scientific Research CompetitionIn the framework of the initiative that launched by His Highness Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed Al Maktoum for excellence and legal thought, a group of students from the College of Law at Al Ain University of Science and Technology - Al Ain Campus- participated in the Maktoum bin Mohammed Al Maktoum udent’s competition for the legal and scientific researches for the Law students.

CEIT First Annual CeremonyThe College of Engineering and Information Technology (CEIT) at Al Ain University of Science and Technology –Al Ain Campus- organized its First Annual Ceremony, where the CEIT has awarded around 85 students for their positive achievements and special contributions in the Academic, Sports, Community Engagement categories.

AAU organized a seminar about Video Games and Modern Video SystemsThe College of Engineering and Information Technology at Al Ain University of Science and Technology in conjunction with IEEE UAE Microwave Theory and Techniques Society (MTT-S), Instrumentation & Measurement Society (IM-S) Joint Chapter, and IEEE AAU Student Branch, organized an IEEE Administrative Meeting and a Technical Talk about Video, Games, Video Games and Modern Video Systems at Abu Dhabi Campus - Mohammed Bin Zayed City.

AAU organized a workshop entitled “Customer Service Skills”In the context of the university’s keenness to raise the level of professionalism of the staff, the Human Resources Unit at Al Ain University of Science and Technology -Al Ain Campus- organized a three-day workshop entitled “Customer Service Skills” for the administrative staff in collaboration with the Continuing Education Center at Al Ain University -Abu Dhabi Campus, which was presented by Mr. Hazem Hussein.

A Workshop Entitled “The Sustainability Mechanisms in Business” for Master’s students of the College of Business AdministrationThe Master’s students of the College of Business Administration at Al Ain University of Science and Technology –Abu Dhabi Campus- participated in a workshop entitled “The Sustainability Mechanisms in Business”, which was organized by the Ministry of Economy at the headquarters of Ras Al Khaimah Chamber, under the supervision of Dr. Faten Kharbat from Al Ain University.The workshop talked about several topics, such as the idea of sustainability in the business, the mechanisms of the longevity of the resources used, how to apply the sustainability in business with some special exercises for the participants.

The Media Students Visit the Arab Media ForumIn the framework of its keenness to develop the culture awareness and look at what’s new in the world of media, the College of Mass Communication and Media at Al Ain University of Science and Technology –Al Ain Campus- organized a scientific visit to the Arab Media Forum 15th Edition which lasted over two days under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum, UAE Vice President and Prime Minister, and ruler of Dubai, under the slogan (Media .. For Good), and in the presence of Princess Haya Bint Al Hussein, the wife of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.The delegation was under the supervision of Dr. Khzeim Al Khuzam, Dean of the College of Mass Communication and Media, and Dr. Reyad Jaljali, faculty member at the college, who stressed on the importance of these forums for Media students which will enhance the their ideas and add to their knowledge all the new things about the New Media.

AAU –Abu Dhabi Campus- organized a workshop about the “Reading and Writing Skills”Under the directives of His Highness Sheikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan, may God protect him, to make 2016 a year of reading, the Deanship of Student Affairs at Al Ain University of Science and Technology –Abu Dhabi Campus- organized a workshop entitled “Reading and Writing Skills” in collaboration with the Emirates Heritage Club and and Ashbal Al Quds Private School. The workshop was presented by Dr. Eyad Abdul Majeed - Deputy Dean of Student Affairs, in Ashbal Al Quds School.Dr. Abdul Majeed started with a brief about the reading and its importance, which is the primary method to promote the intellectual, social, scientific and economic, as well as the reading is the main thing to achieve the goals and objectives.He also talked about the appropriate details in reading, the suitable content for the kids and adults to encourage them to read, in addition to the reading methods, such as reading aloud and silently, and the benefits of each.

AAU students – AD Campus- visits Abu Dhabi Book FairIn line with the initiative of making the 2016 year as a reading year, the College of Business Administration at Al Ain University of Science and Technology –Abu Dhabi Campus- participated in the Book Fair events which was held at the Fairgrounds / Abu Dhabi.The students met with Mr. Sultan Al Amimi - Director of Poetry Academy in the Abu Dhabi Authority for Tourism and Culture and a member of the jury in the poet of the million program.They also took a tour of the exhibition, they take a look on the latest versions of books and publishing houses.It is noteworthy that Al Ain University of Science and Technology is always keen to spread cultural awareness among students, and support reading as an important part of the evolution of society.

AAU President honored student Baraa Turkmany for her excellency in the Achievement ExamAAU President, Prof. Ghaleb El Refae honored the student Baraa Turkmany from the College of Pharmacy for her excellence in the Achievement Exam.This comes within the framework of the support provided by the university to the students, and to encourage them to excel intheri field.
