Vision

“No child in India shall be deprived of education because of hunger.”

India ranks

13th in the Worldwide GDP

(Gross Domestic Product) out of 79 countries.

But , the GHI (Global Hunger Index) ranking of India is

65 out of 79 countries.

India is emerging as one of the world's top

10 countries in industrial production.

Yet , there are

8 .1 million children are out of school (www.worldbank.org.in)

The Mid-Day Meals in Government schools will help counter poverty, illiteracy and malnutrition.

This is where we come in

We implement the Mid-Day Meal Programme in Government Schools and Government-aided Schools under the aegis of Central and State Governments.

The enrolment of students and attendance has increased significantly.

The drop out rate has decreased. So has the number of underweight children.

The attention span and academic progress of the children has improved.

The nutritional status of children has seen a significant improvement. There is better socialization among castes.

We began our initiative by

feeding

1500 children in

5 Government

schools in Bangalore.

Today, we provide Mid-Day Meal in

10 states and

24 locations everyday.

Akshaya Patra employs two models of kitchen infrastructure.
