Corporate Business Model DevelopmentBefore starting AKEA we conducted interviews with past customers and key personnel we wished to join the company. We learned:

Employers think:

• Subject matter experts are retiring or leaving corporate America.

• Employees that stay 5 years or more are the exception.

• Employees are coming into the work place with no real skills or training. Everyone requires OJT.

• Qualified employees are very difficult to find and cost way too much.

Employees think:

• Few Employers understand work / life balance, no matter what they preach.

• Employers do not return loyalty, as soon as a quarterly report is unfavorable, they dump people.

• Very little training is offered, they expect you be an expert on day one.

• I am assigned jobs I know nothing about and have no interest in learning as everyone is doing two or three jobs.

Don has been an engineering and maintenance project manager for over 35 years. He successfully executed many large capital projects including the last Oreo line for Mondelez, a capital expenditure in excess of $110MM. In addition, he was the project manager responsible for the Kraft multi-line Mio liquid concentrate project a capital project with total expenditures in excess of $45MM. Don also has worked as a Maintenance leader for several major food companies. During his long career he has mentored many young professionals in both maintenance and capital engineering.

• Generated over $100m per year in production saving projects for Nabisco. Project lead for new $25M baking line. Introduction of new technology Safeline Metal Detectors, VFFS machines, Fastback conveyors , plus.

• Project Manager for Mio, Kool-Aid and Chrystal Light lines capital projects for Kraft Beverage.

• Managed consolidation of 5 high speed cold formed bar plants in to 3.

Don Aikens – VP Project Management

Reggie’s 30 years of engineering and project management skills in various industries has been used to develop equipment and production lines to solve the unsolvable. His passion for executing capital projects can be seen in his disciplined approach to the finest details of scheduling, planning, engineering, quality assurance, follow up and customer service. This skill set has allowed him to work with some of the largest and best known manufacturers in the world.

• Developed technology to place fork mark on Duncan Hines Peanut Butter Cookies

• Lead engineer of team responsible for design, install and startup of a liquid filling line converting from glass to plastic for Geber Foods.

Reggie Manning – Principal Mechanical Engineer

30+ year of experience in packaging equipment development, project management and leadership in capital equipment strategies for the Food industry. Recognized for being an innovative problem solver and subject matter expert in primary and secondary packaging for powdered and liquid products. Proven track record of delivering complete packaging line solutions, including development and implementation of “first of its kind” packaging equipment, for new product introductions.

Unique Skills – GMP, FDA, USDA, Six Sigma Green Belt, Bilingual, Bicultural, US Patent for development of product inspection system (US8,371,343).

• Redesign / optimization of existing bakery lines, including cup filling / sealing, VFFS, HFFS and bulk packaging lines for Mondelez.

• Represented Kraft Beverage on company wide task force on standardization of X-Ray, Metal Detection and check weight systems.

From Land procurement, Building design, Rezoning, Demolition, Managing contractors and being the single point of contact for the customer. His extensive work in various industries with strict sanitary requirements, Food & Beverage, Semiconductor, Pharmaceuticals, and Laboratories provides him with a broad base of knowledge to work with all contractors and regulators.
