8th ASIA – PACIFIC REGIONAL SCOUT LEADERS SUMMIT HELD FROM 26-29 APRIL, 2014 NEGOMOBO, SRI LANKA 8th Asia Pacific Regional Scout Leaders

Summit was held at Negomobo, Sri

Lanka from 26-29 April, 2014.

The summit was inaugurated by H.E.

Hon D. M. Jayaratna, Prime Minister of

Sri Lanka with Attorney General Mr.

Hon. Palitha Fernando. The participants

were also invited by the President H.E.

Mahinda Rajapaksa at Presidency at

Colombo.

From each NSO Chief Commissioner,

International Commissioner and Chief

Scout Executives / Secretaries were

invited in this Summit. Pakistan Boy

Scouts Association was represented by

Chief Commissioner, PBSA, Mr. Abdul

Karim Baloch and Acting Secretary, Mr.

Zahid Mahboob. The objectives of the

summit were as under:

- To analyze the developments in the

region between Scout Leaders

Summit and to indentify the

challenges faced by the region;

- To provide direction for APR Vision

and indentify focus areas for the

coming triennium; and

- To provide input and sharing for the

incoming World Scout Conference

and Regional Scout Conference.

2ND APR MESSENGERS OF PEACE NSO COORDINATORS GATHERING, CIBUBUR SCOUT COMPLEX, JAKARTA, INDONESIA, 3-7 APRIL 2014 2nd APR Messengers of Pease NSO

Coordinators Gathering was held at

Cibubur Scout Complex Indonesia from

3-7 April, 2014. On the Invitation of APR

Mr. Zahid Mahboob National

Coordination MOP Pakistan attended

this gathering.

Success stories were presented by the

each 19 NSOs of APR.

The criteria for having the MOP Ring

Badge was also discussed. MOP

networking was practiced by the

coordinators.

Mr. Prasanna & Ms. Cynthia Marquez

led the sessions alongwith Hafiz Uzair.

Mr. Indo Reyano Samili was the

Director of this MOP Gathering.

Later on, MOP Team Indonesia

gathering was also held. Mr. Zahid

Mahboob also attended the same as a

staff for this gathering. Indonesian

Regional Coordinators and Scout

Leaders from all their regions attended

this gathering.

organized Scout Leader Course from

31st March to 6th April, 2014 at National

Headquarters, Pakistan Boy Scouts

Association, Islamabad.

38 Scouts from Rawalpindi and Rahim

Yar Khan Districts participated and

declared successful. Mr. Aslam

Ghuman was the Course Leader.

ROVER SCOUT CAMP AT NHQ, PBSA, ISLAMABAD PIA BSA Organized Rover Scout Camp

for Hamdam Badge activities from 11-

16 April, 2014 at National

Headquarters, PBSA, Islamabad. Total

16 Rover scouts including 03 Girls in

Scouting participated the camp.

Pioneering, cooking hiking, compass,

and skills learning were some of the

activities covered during five day camp.

The camp was organized under the

supervision of Mr. Muhammad Ejaz,

District Secretary Rawalpindi PIA BSA.

Whereas Mr. Kamran Alam was

Secretary of the camp and Mr. Saleem

Butt performed the duties as Camp

Leader.

REGIONAL SCOUTS HEADQUARTERS, MULTAN ACTIVITIES REPORT, APRIL, 2014

WORKSHOP FOR SCOUT LEADERS.

District Boy Scouts Association,

Lodhran, in collaboration with Regional

Scouts Headquarters, Multan organized

a Workshop for Scout leaders at Govt.

High School, Dunyapur from 21st to 23rd

April, 2014. 32 participants from

different Scout Units participated in this

workshop. Mr. Abdullah Jahan Zaib,

Regional Scouts Organizer, Multan and

Mr. Zafar Hussain Warraich, District

Scouts Secretary, Lodhran conducted

the Workshop.

ROVERS CAMP AT BAHAUDDIN ZAKRIYA UNIVERSITY, MULTAN. A Rover Camp was organized at B.Z.

University, Multan from 1st to 4th April,

2014. 36 Rovers and Leaders from B.Z.

University, Multan, Govt. Science

College, Multan and Govt. College, Civil

Lines, Multan participated in this camp.

Participants were engaged in different

activities like tracking, nature study,

bade system programmes & camp fire.

Competitions like Husn-e-Qiraat, Husn-

e-Naat, Speeches, Camp Inspection,

cooking and general knowledge were

held. Overall First position was won by

Rover Unit of B.Z. University, Multan

conducted the camp programme.

ONE DAY HIKE FOR ROVERS. Regional Scouts headquarters arranged

a hike for Rover Scouts on 12th April,

2014. 34 participated in this

adventurous activity. Hikers assembled

at the Regional Scouts Headquarters,

Multan.

Mr. Khalid Mahmood Kathia, was the

Hike Coordinator and Mr. Muhammad

Zuhaib Dogar was the Hike Leader.

MATTA SCOUT OPEN GROUP DENGUE WALK Under the kind supervision of MSOG, a

peaceful walk against Dengue Virus was

organized on 10 April, 2014 for

awareness.

The concerned walk led by the Assistant

Commissioner and CMO Matta

alongwith the students of several

schools. The walk has been appreciated

warmly by the local citizens, officials

and general public.
