    EXECUTIVE SUMMARY

The students of DYPIMR were assigned a project titled- To study the student

behavior in the institute & its relation to disciplinary action.

Behavior of the student is different at different places they behave differently at

home, institutes, classes etc. the discipline in the institute affects the behavior of

student. The rules and regulation determine by the institute decides the behavior

of the student. Some of the students obey the rules where as some not. There are

positive effects of discipline in the institute, but some times over strictness leads

to the underdeveloped of students. They become reserved & do not open

    themselves to the professors.

The research for the above has been made by me by preparing a questionnaire

containing 11 questions. Various students were approached & their opinion on

the questions has been taken. So the students from the different field were

    approached to get their opinion.

I selected the following college under D.Y.Patil Pratishthan.

    1. Medical College2.

    Engineering College

From the survey which I conducted, it was found that the students have normal

behavior in the institute. The students prefer that there should not be too strict

rules & regulation in the institute as they also want to have some kind of

independence. The students also think that there shouldnt be any strict action

against in disciplinary. The behavior of students affects their academics. The

students also agree that the faculty members are not responsible for some

students misbehavior. There is no association between underdevelopment of

    students & strictness in institute.

    Research Methodology

Meaning: Research is a systematic structure of investigation undertaken in orderto discover new facts. It provides structure for decision making. Resource is an

inseparable part of human knowledge. It is a process that takes the assistance of

scientific method in solving problems. Research is a way of thinking. It clarifies the

thought process. Research is taken in natural & social sciences. Todays research

has become an important activity in overall life. Methodology is essential to

perform any research activity. Method means system or order. Method means

way of doing something. Research methodology provides a framework to conduct

the research. Methodology provides a way & guiding principles for research.Hence research methodology became very important in todays academic carrier.

    Definition: {oxford English Dictionary}

Research is an investigation directed to the discovery of some facts by careful

study of a subject, a course of critical or scientific enquiry.

    Sample:

A sample may be define as portion selected from large population. Simply we can

say sample is specimen. It is a part taken to represent the whole. It is selected

part which is used to ascertain to characteristics of population. Sample is

something to be tested for definite or special purposes.

    Various types of sampling:

    Probability sampling:

Probable means likely to happen or to prove true or correct. In this it is possible

to state in advance the probability in any given unit will be included in the sample.

    Its sub types are

    1. Simple random sampling2. Stratified random sampling3. Systematic sampling4. Cluster sampling5. Area sampling6. Multistage sampling

    Nonprobability sampling:

In this type of sampling there is no estimation of probability in each element of

population. In this sampling method there is no assurance that every element has

    some specific chance being included.

    Its sub types are

    1. Judgment/purposive sampling2. Convenience sampling3. Quota sampling4. Snowball

    Field research:

This is one of the research methodology followed to do the research. In this

method particular area is selected & set of questions are asked. Their views &

opinion are categorized. Each person is approached separately to collect

suggestion, views, opinions, thoughts etc. From the questionnaire data is

collected & conclusions are drawn on the basis of that data. This method is used

to understand the general view of public.

    MISBEHAVE?

    A. YES B.NO C. CANT SAY
