Ajanta and Ellora caves situated in northern Maharashtra, 400 kilometers from Mumbai. Ajanta is famous in its sculpture and paintings and Ellora are famous for their extraordinary architecture.

Day 1-Arrival at Mumbai

COMPASS REPRESENTATIVE will receive you on arrival at the airport and transfer to the hotel.

Mumbai is the The capital city of Maharashtra State formerly known as Bombay lies in the southwestern part of India and occupies a peninsular site originally composed of seven islets lying off the KONKAN COAST of western India. Mumbai is also country's financial and commercial hub and has a principal port on the Arabian Sea. Overnight will be at Mumbai



Day 2-Trip to Mumbai

Mumbai Fort:- The area north of Colaba is known as Mumbai Fort, since the old British fort was once located here.

Marine Drive:- Marine Drive located in the central Mumbai, built in the 1920s and 30s on land reclaimed from the sea.

Gateway of India:- Gateway of India is a huge archway on the water's edge at Apollo Bunder.

Mumbai High Court:- Statues representing Justice and Mercy surmount the Central structure.

Overnight will be at Mumbai



Day 3-Mumbai-Elephanta Caves

The Elephanta Island is the site of the magnificent Elephanta caves, containing beautiful carvings, sculptures, and a temple to the Hindu God, Lord Shiva. Elephanta caves are located at a distance of 11 km from Mumbai and are now designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.




Day 4-Mumbai-Aurangabad

Aurangabad today is a bustling city of Maharashtra with diverse big and small industries, fine silken textiles, and exquisite hand woven brocades of silver and gold fabrics, Himroo of world frame. To scholars and lovers of art and culture the city is more familiar as the gateway to the ancient caves of Ajanta and Ellora, both famous as treasure houses of Indian Art and Sculpture.




Day 5-Trip to Ajanta Caves

Ajanta Caves:- The Caves date from the 2nd century BC. Discovered in 1819 by a group of British army officers, these startling achievements took around 600 years to create.

Daulatabad Fort:- One of the world's best preserved fort of medieval times, surviving virtually unaltered, Daulatabad yet displays the character that made it invincible. This is a Fortress that was conquered only by treachery.

Day 6-Trip to Aurangabad Caves

Aurangabad Caves: The almost forgotten caves of Aurangabad lie just outside the city. Excavated between the 2nd and 6th century AD, they reflect TANTRIC influences in their iconography and architectural designs. In all there are nine caves which are mainly viharas (monasteries). The most interesting among these are Caves 03 and 07.

Overnight will be at Aurangabad



Day 7-Mumbai-Departure

Transfer to the airport to board a flight to Mumbai. Reach and enjoy last minute shopping.

As per the flight timings you will be transferred to the airport to take flight back home with sweet memories of the India Tour and Ajanta and Ellora Caves Tour.
