Aircraft Specialty, and TS Flightlines are excited to announce a new RV-10 Cabin fuel hosepackage. We would like to thank Dr. Mark Ciaglia for his help in getting the dimensions for thispackage perfect as well as his very detailed writeup and pictures, which is included below to helpwith the fabrication of required brackets as well as a complete component list of items requiredfor installation.

(1) Andair FS2020 Duplex valve

(4) Andair 90o elbow fuel fittings (EF20)

(2) Andair Straight fittings

EFII Option:

(2) Return Fuel Bungs for return fuel access to tanks.

Optional equipment:

(2) Airward access panels for central tunne

The installation of the EFII system requires a modification of the fuel system. The most drasticmodification is installation of the return fuel lines to the tanks. Fabrication of many of the lines hasbeen taken care of by Aircraft specialties making installation a breeze.

To gain better access to the tunnel installation of the Airward access panels is highly recommended.

Plan deviation for the brakes:

When installing the brake lines, whether hard aluminum lines are bent or flexible lines are used. Theymust be installed in the aft most hole of the three on the bulkhead. The forward two will be used forthe fuel in and fuel return lines.

VERY IMPORTANT: DUE TO THE VARIATIONS THAT EXIST IN THE INSTALLATION(WING ROOT FILTERS, CABIN FILTERS, AND EFII/SDS, DO NOT INSTALL THEAIRWARD TUNNEL ACCESS PLATES OR FINAL MOUNT THE FUEL PUMP SHELFUNTIL YOU HAVE ACCURATELY LOCATED THE PUMP ASSEMBLY BY LAYING IT INPOSITION WITH ALL HOSES LOOSELY ATTACHED. THIS WILL GIVE YOU THECORRECT MOUNTING LOCATION FOR THE PUMP SHELF AS WELL AS THEAIRWARD TUNNEL COVERS.

Step 1)

Install the Andair fuel valve. This FS2020 duplex valve requires a modification to the stock fuel mount. The easiest way to cut the angles off the stock mount, rivet them in place. Use the provided templatefrom Andair and make a mounting plate that can be riveted into position on the two angles. This keepsthe fuel valve in the proper position and height. The fittings need to be orientated specifically to allowclearance and fitting of the hoses. The top potion of the volave is the inflow and the bottom portion isthe return. The forward facing fittings should be the straight connectors. The 90o fittings attach to theside. The upper ones should face aft and the lower ones should face downward.

Step 2)

Mount the EFII fuel dual fuel pumps and pre-filter. The EFII system provided you a dual pump complexthat is already mounted to CNC machined mounting blocks. If you have not planned ahead and left thefloor rivets out drill out the 9 rivets that hold the pilot and copilot floor pans in place. Leave the aft most4 rivets in place then drill out the next nine. Fabricate 2 aluminum angles to measure 10“ long. Draw acenterline on one side and align them with the holes of the drilled out rivets. Clamp in place. Positionthe angle so the forward edge is centered between the forward-most empty rivet hole you drilled outand the “10th” rivet left in place. Match drill the angle aluminum clecoing as you proceed.

Step 3)

Fabricate a mounting plate for the EFII fuel pumps. Measure the distance between the bulkheads at theforward and aft portions of the attached angle aluminum. Cut a piece of .063” aluminum to fit betweenthem. Drill 6 mounting #19 holes in the plate (each corner and 2 central) for a #8 screw. Match drillthem to the underlying angle aluminum.

Remove all pieces.

Deburr the edges and holes.

Use a nut-plate to match drill the rivet mounting holes for attachment. Countersink the holes. Use aK1000-8 in the central portion and the K-2000-8 for the corner attachments. Rivet them in place withAN426AN3-4 rivets

Step 4)

Drill the fabricated plate to accept the pumps. Use the supplied aluminum plate as a template for theholes. Make sure the aft end of the EFII pump is 25” from the firewall. This is critical to ensure thehoses will fit into place. Position the pump, mark and drill ¼” holes for the AN4 bolts provided in the kit.Test fit the mounting plate with the mount attached. You may need to remove some the anglealuminum to clear the pump mounting bolts in the aft portion. (see above picture)

Step 5)

Rivet the angle aluminum into place with 18 MSP42 rivets.

Step 6)

Permanently mount the pump to the plate with the supplied AN4 bolts. Torque to specifications.Secure the plate with attached pump to the angle aluminum brackets with the #8 screws.

Step 7)

Use the supplied adel clamp and AN4 bolt with crush washer to secure the pre-filter to the forward pilotside hole.

Step 8)

-If the holes in the bulkhead have not been enlarged to accept the AN-6 fittings do this now.

-A second hole will be needed in the firewall for the fuel return. The exiting hole is actually going to bethe fuel return (co-pilot side) Drill a mirror image hole on the pilot side for the fuel flow to the engine.Install an AN-837-6 bulkhead fitting into both holes. (45 degree goes Firewall Forward with anglespointed directly outboard)

In the bulkheadinstall an AN-837-6D 45o bulkheadfitting in the middlehole and an AN-833-6D 90o

bulkhead fitting inthe forward mosthole.

On the fuselage side install a 90o TCW bulkhead fitting in the enlarged hole. Drill another hole for anAN-833-6D 90o bulkhead fitting at the following location. 1 ¼” aft of the rivet line and 1 1/2” up from thebottom edge of the side skin

Install the fitting after the hole has been deburred. Make sure all fittings are aligned horizontally.Torque the bulkhead fittings nuts appropriately.

Step 9)

Enlarge the hose brackets under the seat and the retaining clip to accept the hose and a grommet.

Step 10)

Install all hoses, torque to appropriate setting. Use the small 3/8” adel clamp to secure the return fuelline from the firewall to the Andair vlave at the copilot forward hole on the mount.
