• Scope: Consider strategies to improve 135 operator training

and checking, including training/checking conducted by

142 training centers.

• Sixteen recommendations submitted

– Standardized Curriculum for Part 135 Training

– Scenario-Enhanced Recurrent Training for Part 135

– Helicopter Air Ambulance Training

Alternatives for an ATP Workgroup

• Scope: Explore the creation of additional

paths to fulfill the requirements for the

aeronautical education, training and

experience required for a US Airline Transport

Pilot certificate with restricted privileges (R-

ATP).

– Proposed pathways must result in a level of

competence, proficiency, and safety equal to or better

than the existing regulations.

• Two recommendations submitted

Crew Resource Management Workgroup

• Scope: Develop recommendations for guidance material

about cross-functional crew resource management

(CRM)/dispatch resource management (DRM) training for

initial and recurrent training for pilots, flight attendants and

aircraft dispatchers.

• Two recommendations submitted

• FAA Implementation:

– CRM Advisory Circular expected in 2018.

Workgroup

• Scope: Recommend updates/improvements to current

training and guidance around response to high-energy

(HEF) fires that can occur in the occupied areas of the

aircraft.

Conclusion

• The ACT ARC continues to serve as a valuable interface between FAA and

industry to address emerging risks and increase safety.

• There is a high-level of voluntary contribution by industry.

• The FAA is working to implement ACT ARC recommendations for Flight

Path Management, Contract Training, and Crew resource management

(CRM) guidance enhancements.
