Changes Within the OPC
Four key organizational changes were announced to the membership by way of email on December 21, 2017.
Changes include:
Addition of 1 Regional Operations Committee (ROC)- bringing us from 13 to 14 ROCs - and the introduc-tion of Regional Effective Speaking (RES) groups
ROC meetings will be held less frequently and on an 'as-needed,' locally agreed basis and virtual meeting technology is available to be used
Title of Regional Team Leader (RTL) and ROC Chairperson will change to Squadron Director (SD) and Regional Director (RD), respectively, and additional focus on Director recruitment through an applica-tion process, not a nomination process
Squadron Operations Council (SOC) is being stood up for operation in Spring 2018.
For more information, please refer to the information package created and uploaded to the member-only content—announcements section - of our website titled, ‘Changes Within the OPC’ or click here.
Director and Volunteer Recruitment
In the beginning of November 2017, a Director and Volunteer Recruitment
Survey had been distributed to the membership. The OPC Board of
Governors would like to thank everyone who has participated in the sur-
vey—which has immensely assisted the facilitation of rebuilding the organi-
zational structure.
We encourage you to also consider others in your cadet experience
who you feel would be a good fit to become a Regional or Squadron
Director and supply us with their names to OPC Governor and
Organizational Renewal Committee Chairperson, Roberta Foisy at
[email protected]. These roles would be a great
fit for anyone retiring or leaving the CIC as their experience would
also be an asset.
The goal is to build a team of Squadron Directors and Regional Directors that will support and mentor each
other and for all positions to be filled and in operation at full capacity in one year. To fill the vacant positions
a basic application process in involved. The Regional and Squadron Director application form is available
here and on the member-only content section of our website. The Regional Director Job Description may be
found here. The Squadron Director Job Description may be found here.
