AIM Ventilated Rainscreen Fire Barrier (Lite) VRB Lite Polythene enclosed Mineral Wool Fire Barrier for Rainscreen Systems — allowing ventilation and drainage of the cavity under service conditions The AIM VRB Lite jointly developed and tested by AIM & Tenmat, offers an effective fire barrier for ventilated cavities of up to 300mm. VRB Lite is simple and cost effective to install, allowing a continuous ventilation space of up to 25mm. VRB Lite has been tested to the general principles of the more stringent BS EN 1363-1 standard. Features • Continuous free airspace of 25mm • Tested by Chiltern International Fire to the general principles of BS EN 1363-1 • 60 minute fire rating • Quick and cost effective installation • Weather resistant construction • Supplied in one metre lengths complete with fixing brackets and pigtail screws Installation This product is supplied with two galvanised steel fixing brackets per metre. The brackets should be securely mechanically fixed to the internal wall at maximum 500mm centres using non combustible fixings. The Ventilated Rainscreen Barrier should be impaled mid barrier depth by the fixing brackets, with the brackets penetrating the barrier to approximately three quarters of the width of the product. For cut lengths a minimum of two fixing brackets should be used. It is important to ensure that the barrier is pushed back to be fully in contact with the supporting wall. Imperfections of up to 10mm can be filled with suitable intumescent mastic. Adjacent lengths should be tightly butt jointed together. VRB Lite requires the additional installation of four x 65mm pigtail screws impaled though the outer facing side of the product at 250mm centres. Care should be taken to ensure that the pigtail screws protrude by a maximum of 25mm, making contact with the rear of the rainscreen cladding, to ensure that the open airspace is maintained. Installation

This product is supplied with two galvanised steel fixing brackets per metre.
