VIJAY CHAITANYA

Vijay Chaitanya, the then MCP of Slovakia came down to Hyderabad for the IC_2010 Conference. He then met the LCP of Hyderabad, Hmanshu Charan to reopen the expansions in Vizag. An d it so happened that he was a part of AIESEC Vizag previously.

Both of them then visited GITAM University with the intention of starting AIESEC in VIzag and recruiting people, 20 people were recruited.

Two people were raised and sent to Turkey as the first OGX interns from Vizag after which AIESEC Vizag was given an Interest Group status.

The Pioneers

Saif was the first LCC of AIESEC Vizag. He started his journey by going on an internship to Turkey and was then reintegrated into the organization. He was made TL of OGX. In tis period, he managed to get 32 raises. He was then made TL for expansions. He was the co-ordinator between Hyderawas the co-ordinator between Hydera-bad and Vizag. The LCP of Hyderabad for 2011-2012 was Nagarjuna Yadav. Luvieen Alva was later elected LCP for the year 2012-2013 wherein Bhavishy-at .A was made the VP Expansions and Saif was given the position of LCC during the time.

Under the able guidance of these two dynamic leaders, AIESEC Vizag gained stability which laid the foun-dation for the organization’s contin-ued development. They also gave special importance on inculcating the core AIESEC values in all their members.

Both of them stressed on the impor-tance of designing projects that were based on all the global economic con-cernerns viz. education, health, envi-ronment, poverty, entrepreneurship and corporate affairs

Timeline 2011-2012

• Recruitment held in Feb’ 2011, 40 people got recruited.• A few members attended the NLDS 2011 in Silavasa.• Recruitment held again in Aug’ 2011, 60 people got recruited.• LTS was conducted for the new recruits of the August recruitment.• AIESEC Vizag conducted its first event ‘Feed a Day’ on 31st of December 2011 and it created an impact for an approximate of 1000 people by distributing the same number of food packets.1000 people by distributing the same number of food packets.

Ashwin Shankar beacme a part of the organization through February recruitment of 2011. After attending NLDS 2011, he went on to become TL for iGIP. In the next quarter he’d been se-lected as TL for OGX. He was announced as the LCC of announced as the LCC of AIESEC Vizag this year under the gudance of LCP of Hydera-bad - Madhav and VP Expan-sions - Sriram Kakarla.

With the aim of seeing an AIESECer in every individual, AIESEC Vizag is now more focused in sustainability and member retention. The projects are designed in such a way to im-prove the LC s branding in the city and financial satbility. More lead ses-sions and member training sessioms toget the best out of every member.
