Interuniversity Student Fest – Enginuity November ’16, on the 27th and 29th

November 2016.

ICDT is an Inter-Collegiate Debate Tournament was based on topics related to

Chemical Engineering. The topics covered debatable issues over chemical laws,

environment laws, sustainability, etc. The competition aimed to encourage youth

to draw conclusions to such issues from their unique perspective and think in a

way that future leaders would. It was organized by the 3rd year students Rutuja

Jadhav and Srinivasakanan Krishna along with the AIChE Officers’ Jithin

Gopakumar, Taqdees Imtiaz and Eti Bhasin. Bileena Balachandran was the

November 2016 in the Auditorium. Dr. Dinesh C Sharma from Amity University

was our Chief guest of the day. Dr. Vijaykumar, Professor at Manipal University

and other faculties from the Department of Chemical Engineering were also

present for the event.

After an intense battle of science, technology and of course words, BITS team 1 -

Aishwarya Roy, Manasa Prasad and Aparna Rajendrakumar bagged the first

position. Varun Vinod, from the Manipal team secured the title of 'Best Speaker'.

Overall, the event was a healthy means of debating over Important technical

issues faced by the world. It brought in the perspective of today's youth over

issues of laws, engineering ethics, sustainability etc.

The collaboration brought about by ICDT amongst all other AIChE chapters in
