Firmware update operation

1] Connect the specific serial cable (RS-232C) with expander board

2] Connect the serial cable with PC

3] Start Hyper Terminal. In order to use Hyper Terminal via 6G Expander, please choose

Bits per second to “38400”, Data bits to “8” Parity to “None”, Stop bits to “1” and Flow

control to “None”

Check current firmware version by typing the “rev” command.

3-1] Download the new firmware to Expander board.

Please transfer the new firmware from terminal soft by XMODEM protocol. Type the

command “fdl e0 0”. Click on “Transfer” tab, and choose “Send File”, a Send File pop-up

will open.

Choose the firmware file as below “v060201-20118041643.fw”

After the firmware is downloaded, type “reset” to reset expander without power cycling.

Then type “rev” again, to double check the up-to-date firmware.

3-2] Download MFG file.

Download the MFG by typing the command “fdl 83 0”. Then click on “Transfer” tab and

choose “Send File”, a Send File pop-up will open.

Please transfer the new MFG file from terminal soft by XMODEM protocol. Select the

correct MFG file. (Every 6G JBOD has different MFG file)

After the MFG file is downloaded, the MFG version will be displayed “01.00.03.07”. Please

type the command “reset” to restart the expander without power cycling.
