HISTORY

The term "robot" was first used in1920 in a play called "R.U.R." Or "Rossums universal robots" by the Czech writer Karel Capek.

The word “Robot” comes from the word “Robota”, meaning, in Czech” forced labour, drudgery.

WHAT IS ROBOTICS

Robotics is a branch of A.I

Is the study and application of robot tech.

A robot is Mechanical device that performs human

tasks, either automatically or by remote control

WHY IS ROBOTICS NEEDED

Robotics is needed because:-

Speed

Can work in hazardous/dangerous

temperature

Can do repetitive tasks

Can do work with accuracy

APPLICATIONS

A robot may act under the direct control of a human, such as the arm on a space shuttle, or under the control of a programmed computer.

EXPLORATION

ROBOTS IN RADIOACTIVE AREAS

 Robots may be used to perform tasks that are to dangerous or difficult for humans to do directly, such as radioactive waste clean-up.

AUTOMOBILE ASSEMBLY LINE

They may also be used to do repetitive tasks that could be performed with more precision by a robot, such as automobile production.

DISADVANTAGE

People can lose jobs in factories

It needs a lot of power supply

It needs maintenance to keep it

running

It costs money to make or buy robots

Virtual robots

CONCLUSION

Robot can perform task with

much accuracy and speed

than human being

However, complicated task

are still better best

performed by human being

with real brainpower
