!at Conference directs the National Executive to direct the Garda Commissioner to amend Garda Code 11.42 as follows: at 11.42 (1) by removal of the words; ‘in situations where no claims exist against either the State, a third party or under the Garda Síochána (Compensation) Acts, 1941-45’, at 11.42 (1) (e) by removal of the words, ‘or a voluntary health society.’ and the removal of sub-paragraph (2) (d) in its entirety.

(!e practice is very evident where GSOC is instigating an investigation pursuant to Section 98 of the Garda Síochána Act 2005 and Garda management provides names of members to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission.) Garda management must also inform the members concerned that their names have been so provided.
