!at Conference directs the National Executive to direct the Garda Commissioner to amend Garda Code 11.42 as follows: at 11.42 (1) by removal of the words; ‘in situations where no claims exist against either the State, a third party or under the Garda Síochána (Compensation) Acts, 1941-45’, at 11.42 (1) (e) by removal of the words, ‘or a voluntary health society.’ and the removal of sub-paragraph (2) (d) in its entirety.

!at Conference directs the National Executive to request the Garda Commissioner to discontinue the unfair practice of requesting reports/statements from member(s) of An Garda Síochána against whom a complaint has been made, without "rst informing the member(s) of the nature of the complaint and the identity of the member(s) actually complained of, particularly where a number of members are involved in the incident. (!e practice is very evident where GSOC is instigating an investigation pursuant to Section 98 of the Garda Síochána Act 2005 and Garda management provides names of members to the Garda Síochána Ombudsman Commission.) Garda management must also inform the members concerned that their names have been so provided.

(ii) !e President of the Association and the General Secretary of the Association shall jointly decide on a Branch’s request to postpone an Annual General Meeting to the month of February and both parties must agree on the postponement.
(iii) All functions, actions and decisions of the postponed Annual General Meeting shall be valid as if held in the month of January.
