A leading industry, agriculture is vital to all areas of the state, especially the rural areas. Students in OCtech’s Agriculture/Business program gain the knowledge and skills necessary to be successful in agricultural and support industries. They gain an increased understanding of practices that improve the sustainability of farms and agricultural industries. OCtech’s Associate in Science with an emphasis in Agricultural Education, Food Science or Soils and Sustainable Crops is designed for students to either transfer specific courses or a complete associate degree to the College of Agriculture, Forestry and Life Sciences at Clemson University to count toward a four- year degree. Students participate in hands-on activities in our agricultural teaching garden and greenhouse while taking general education courses that transfer to Clemson. Agribusiness drives South Carolina’s economy with an annual impact of $41.7 billion and more than 212,500 jobs. (Source: S.C.
